I'm not trying to put down this deal at all. But, you'll be able to get the Asus Transformer on Black Friday for $249 at Best Buy. May be worth it to some.

I'm afraid to pull the trigger on a tablet before Black Friday. I expected that would be a big item this year, although maybe the floods in Thailand have quashed sellers' desire to discount them.

Would this be able to play Netflix. I'm completely new to tablets so I have no clue what's needed. I do know that Netflix works with some sort fo an android app now.

I hadn't heard about this Transformer pad so I went to look at its specs. It looks pretty good. Anyone have any downsides to this machine? My dog won a $25 Best Buy gift card at the biggest dog competition at a recent Humane Society event, so whatever I buy with it will be his Christmas gift to me this year. It's the first year he's had any money to buy me a gift.

@jeremytheindian: Black Friday deals don't lure me anymore. It's not worth $50 to drive to a Best Buy to find that they sold out of the two units they had for that price 30 seconds after the doors open. Free shipping + no tax makes this a good deal for me.

If you have any insight as to cyber Monday prices, I'm all ears!

Regardless, I'm in for one on this Thrive. I just wish the 32GB model was similarly discounted at this time.

@moondrake: I have the Transformer and it works great for my purposes. I watch movies, read, surf the web, and do some light gaming. I couldn't tell you the last time I used my laptop.
