Anybody got 200 bucks they could lend me?? ... On a serious note these will continue to be useful because they will be heavily integrated with the PS4. To that point though, I'm not sure what Sony's plan is for 'em. Make Vita cheaper because it'll be essential to the PS4, or keep it the same price because it'll be essential to the PS4. Anyways, Vita seems pretty nifty and have been looking to pick one up. Might pull the trigger, I shall sleep on it. OH and btw they might not include the sim card, but they do include an 8 gb memory card. May not be an over-whelming amount of memory, but last time I checked Sony holds the rights to the specific memory card for the Vita and they are certainly not cheap.

I'm waiting until it's hacked.

Was Portal 2 released for it?

Has anyone used paydeals.com? Recommend for or against shopping there?

Does anyone know if this is a refurb or not? It does not say that it is new and that kind of worries me.

vote-for1vote-against

The fact that the product page doesn't specify if this is new or a refurb or what kind of makes me uneasy. I would probably buy this now if it said one way or the other.

Sim cards aren't difficult to come by, but if this is a US region Vita, it's locked to AT&T. The 8GB memory card is a reasonable deal; I paid $300 a few weeks ago for my Vita, and it came with a 4GB card, the sim card (not that I'm activating a plan with AT&T when wifi is fine) a download code for Unit 13, and a year of playstation plus membership. If anyone takes advantage of this deal, I recommend the playstation plus membership. Access to free games as long as you are a member, and it's shared with the PS3 if you have one.

Is the sim card only for 3g? can the Vita be used with wifi only? No sim?

vote-for3vote-against

ichigodiafuku: I may be wrong but under the "Include" section it states "New -white box-"

Ionix: Yes you can. If you don't want to use the 3G, there is wifi built in. They want you to access their PSN store one way or another.

@ichigodiafuku:

In the bottom right side of the description:

Includes:

1 - USB Cable
1 - AC Adapter
1 - AC Powed Cord
1 - Printed Matirials
1 - PS Vita System
1 - 8 GB Memory Card

SIM Card - Not included
New - White Box

So it is new.

Having a vita, it's ok, it doesn't really get alot of use, very few decent games for it, memory cards are extremely over priced and overall i don't think the system is worth 200 dollars, its built well, and has potential but it has virtually no support from most of the video game making community. Maybe when the ps4 comes out it will get some more good stuff but as of now, its a very meh system.

@ionix: Yes you can use it as Wifi only, I have a 3G version but I will not activate it on the AT&T network. Most games don't require even a Wifi except for specific features or for downloading a game.

On a side note, if you get this get Playstation Plus. It will get you a minimum of one free game a month, 2 this month, that you can use as long as your a Plus member. It is $50 for a year of plus and this month they are giving a total of $150 worth of games for the Vita on PS3.

@shivathedestroyer: I have to think the box is new and not the vita, when has any new product ever said a new box?

vote-for2vote-against

Yeah, "white box" doesn't sound too good anyway. Somehting like this would probably say retail box if it was new.

vote-for1vote-against

If you are worried about not being new and don't care about 3g, theres a 15% off vita w/ black ops bundle from newegg. Also includes a 4gb mem.
Total is 212$ Meh, still better than normal price.

PayDeals is not listed with the BBB. The only review I found was on a site called ScamAdvisor, but ScamAdvisor is actually listed as a fraudulent website. I found references or reviews no other place.

Woot, since this is a sponsored deal, can you vouch for this company? Can ANYBODY vouch for this company?

I found this on reddit (response from paydeals):
"These PS Vita's are direct from AT&T. AT&T only supplies the Sim Cards with activation. Due to contract reasons with AT&T we can not resell in their Logo'd box. All accessories and Manuals are included. This item is New, You will have no issue putting in your sim and activating it with AT&T."

I went ahead and ordered 1 - tracking says I should have it tomorrow. I'll add an update if it gets here before the deal ends.

@itzxavier: Who cares, you only need that if you want to put it on their crappy network. For people that just want a discounted Vita, this is solid.

vote-for2vote-against

Nope. My tracking got updated to Tuesday. I thought it was too good to be true.

@dielustigewitwe: just opened the "white box". It's literally the box they ship it in, but it does look like it is new. If it's refurbed, I can't tell. I'm happy with the purchase so far. 24 hours left on the sale.

vote-for1vote-against

Which model is this for? The PCH-1001 or the PCH-1101 - can someone who purchased one let us know? I wanna pick one up!

vote-for1vote-against

@bottleofdjinn: It's a PCH-1101, and this thing is a lot of fun.
