Blu-ray Offer - Upgrade Your Warner Bros. DVDs for New Blu-ray Discs for $7.95
Upgraqde your Warnder Bros. DVDs for new BLU-RAY Discs for as little as $7.95 per disc + $6.95 S&H on the order
This is a great deal, but I only have one of the dvds : /
AS listed in the DEALS.WOOT Similar Deals sidebar, Warner's RED2BLU.com site is still active - fine print says it will end on 12/31/2009 or sooner if they wish.
RED2BLU.com offer is $4.95 for most discs, more for multi-disc sets - send in only cover art w/UPC or box for multi-disc sets like Ultimate Matrix - keep the HDDVDs. Up to 25 titles may be ordered for one $6.95 shipping charge.
The selection is pathetic. Now if they offered the Matrix movies, I may have taken them up on the offer.
red2blu is for HD-DVDs, and DVD2BLU is for regular DVDs, I believe
As a Kubrick nut, I think the selection is excellent. As expected, many of the movies are older titles, but the trade in is very reasonable IMHO
@alansz: As per the name, it's for HD DVDs (red) to Bluray disks (blue).
Sure it's not all the WB movies, but it's a good start, especially for the Kubrick movies and a couple of holiday favorites. Wish they had the original Superman though.
The price you'll pay for the Blu-rays is rarely better than you can get them for on Amazon.
According to The Digital Bits, they're going to add more DVDs to the offer as time goes on.
Very useful if the movie selection was greater. As more and more of us move to blu-ray people feel compelled to buy the same movies over again. (especially the completists among us) Disney had a similar deal but also extremely limited selection.
not sure i get it.
good stuff
Yeah, pretty lousy selection. Expand and I will consider it ! :)
Be nice if they offered the same selection as Red2Blu.....
Doesn't seem like a bad deal at all if you want the HD version of a movie you already own.
if I did this , then I would have to go out & buy a BluRay player.. :|
If I get a blu-ray player for Christmas, I will take advantage of this.
Only 55 movies? No Matrix movies on the list? Good idea for the program, but extend the library, please!
Wish more companies would offer similar deals. I have a BUNCH of DVDs I'd like to upgrade.
Those of you complaining about the selection, make sure you hit the "Show All" link first.
No Harry Potter?!?
This is a great deal. I have only a few Blue-ray discs ... this is a great way to get started with a collection.
Harry Potter, then let's talk.
I found three movies that I could "upgrade". Shipping was 4.95 with two movies in my cart, but went down to zero when I added the third. No idea why, but I checked out fine. I'm psyched to get A Christmas Story and the Wedding Singer, but really just did the Perfect Storm for the free shipping.
