The promotion code you entered is not valid.

@kevstrucks: I think it has to be 8/3 - 8/6 for even the codes to be valid.

JCPenney does this deal every three weeks.

I tried to use this coupon at JCPenny today and they told me it was FAKE. THIS COUPON IS NO GOOD!

vote-for5vote-against

I work at JCP and we had a customer try to use one of these today. If it is good it must be for JCP.com ONLY, because in-store we don't accept it. The current in-store coupon is a mail-out (which goes public in the papers on Friday) for $10 off a purchase of $50 or more, $15 off $75 or more, or $20 off $100 or more.

Buyer (and Wooter) be warned.

BOOKBAG worked for me. ended up shipping to the house for 7.99 since to the store shipping is 5.99 that is crazy why would I bother.

Anyway got a good deal on suit separates originally $120 said they were on sale for 59.99 but checkout showed $23, ordered 2 minus the ten with shipping $45.

Money is money :)

hoodies were strategically priced at $24.99. Lame

@entity17: Yes, they "strategically" set the prices of every item in their store to $24.99 or less in order to avoid redeeming this coupon.

@klacour: I work there. Trust me. The registers still accept them up to like 10 cents short.

Just tried to use this in store at JCPenney, and they claimed it was an illegit coupon. The barcode said "invalid." I politely said that it was linked through their website, and I was pretty confident it was real. They overrode the error, and gave me the 10 smackers off. So whether or not this is works in every store, it doesn't hurt to try. Never underestimate the power of polite whining.

perhaps the fine printthat state "Offer good for the state of Illinois and Valparaiso and Merrillville, Indiana only!" has something to do with the in-store problems?

@spudsy2061: I was replying to a prior post that complained that hoodies were all $24.99, which I guess the poster thought would exempt all hoodies from the coupon. I replied, tongue in cheek, that JCP priced everything in their catalog at 24.99 or less so they wouldn't have to redeem the coupon. Let's think about that for a second ... I posted that JCP changed the price of everything in their catalog in order to avoid honoring a coupon they spent thousands of dollars printing and promoting.

Was my humor that subtle?

I used a printed one today in store and it scanned without a problem. My experience with JCP suggests that coupons are often sometimes in their system at the start of the promotion.
