Has anyone actually received their product key from Microsoft? I don't understand why there's "up to 24 hours" delay to receive the product code?! It takes a lot of the excitement out of upgrading to the new OS.

@jimellsworth1: I just came back to ask that same question. I put my info in yesterday afternoon, 24hrs ago, and have not received my code yet. I would think that is would only take their system all of 2 seconds to send out a code.

I have received a couple keys so far. But it did take about 36 hours. And yes you can get more than one key. It's just one key per email address.

Please have some patience. There are probably a great number of people trying to get the free media center. If you Google it, you'll find people are waiting over 24 hours.I put in for the offer late yesterday morning and finally got the code this afternoon. They will should send it to you eventually. However,I had a problem entering "add features" in the search box and getting nothing. Is anyone else having the same problem? I finally figured out how to enter the code.

I now have 6 keys with no issue...though the last 4 took more than 24 hours.

FYI if you have a gmail account you have a ton of email addresses all in one and they all work for this. for example if your email is johndoe@gmail.com the following are some additional emails you can use.

j.ohndoe@gmail.com
jo.hndoe@gmail.com
joh.ndoe@gmail.com
john.doe@gmail.com
j.oh.nd.oe@gmail.com

etc.etc.etc.

It took 40 hours for me to receive my code. About 3 & 1/2 of those hours were spent on the phone to Microsoft Technical Support since Internet Explorer 10 wouldn't open at all. They finally found a conflict with an old registry of Norton Antivirus so now Windows 8 appears to be working.

@justafreak. Thanks a lot for sharing that about multiple e-mail addresses to one gmail account. I had no idea it worked that way. Much simpler than creating new accounts every time! :)

@jimellsworth1: Yeah the DOT is your friend. I'm not sure if any other mail services do that or not. But gmail has done it since day one, just not many people know about it.
