@bonethrower: @arroyopottery: Keep checking throughout the day. Newegg is famous for having e-blast super deals pop in/out of stock throughout the day.

This thing is way too slow to transfer stuff, ok for storage 1.3 Hours to read whole drive, 4.5 hours to write best case.

I don't like mail in rebates.
I usually avoid anything with a mir but I am really thinking about getting this.

vote-for2vote-against

I just got one..Must be back in stock.....Remember, the price will be $26 and change....You have so send in the $10 MIR to get the $16 price...

@vampirefrost: I do too, but this is a great deal even without the rebate....I downloaded the form and it seems straightforward....So, we will see...Just have to wait for delivery because you have to include the UPC code for the rebate...

@laidbackoh: And how often will you find yourself xfering 64GB of data at once?

@vampirefrost: Still a decent deal even without the MIR.

vote-for1vote-against

Why does it not let me get the price down to $16? Currently I have $45 discounted to $35, then the MIR gets it to $25.

Is this deal expired?

@nicbor: You follow the instructions in the item description or right on Newegg's page. There's a promo code you must enter.

@firebirdude: I could easily do 8 gig, and since I make over $50 an hour, doesn't make sense to save $10 or $15 when it will cost me 30 minutes a pop for this horribly slow drive. max is 40 MB/S for USB 2.0, this is 1/10 that speed. I wouldn't use this drive if it were free. Also, 12% of users reported failed drive on amazon, take that to over a year, it is probably 50%, so it isn't to good for storage either.

@laidbackoh: Why come here if you're only going to bash? Go take your $50 an hour and go somewhere else. Have a good night!

vote-for7vote-against

@laidbackoh: Your hourly rate would only come into play if you did nothing else except watch this thing transfer. Those of us smart enough to make such a salary have discovered that we can do something else while a file transfer is taking place. This drive is a good deal solely for its capacity. transfer rate seldom comes into play, since hardly anyone needs to fill it all at once. You should go back to work since to earn your salary, you should not take time to comment on such a pedestrian sale...

the slower the xfer, the better. Waytin for client's load of data to xfer to this sloth of a flash drive while billing $500/hr, only they lewse.

After a client of mine getting hit by the Crypto Locker Virus on his work PC, time to back up my files. I bought this 64 GB as soon as I saw it on woot. Back up your files everyone, Crypto Locker is hitting home PC's with a vengeance. Bing it and educate yourself.

@rmsalt: And then unplug the drive! That virus hits all attached storage and networked storage that the computer has write access to.
