Thanks for the tip. I looked up Lexar products through newegg, and they seemed like their products were decent enough. Comes with 3-year warranty.

The write speed is kinda slow for a 3.0 drive.
My drive Wintec FileMate.
Read 45 MB/s
Write 36 MB/s

@bigsinner: Thanks for adding that. I looked at their reviews on Amazon and they weren't too bad - 3 1/2 - 4 stars.
@mrfrench: Thanks for your input as well. Since I've only ever used USB 2.0 flash drives up until this point, I'm sure this one will be significantly faster than those. Out of curiosity, how much did you pay for your Wintec Filemate, which appears to have the same reading speed, but a faster writing speed?

I think that's the same price I paid for the first flash drive I ever bought. It was a Lexar as well, but only 128 megabytes! I think the read/write speeds were calculated using an abacus. I still use it a couple of times a week to back up my MS Money program. Over 10 years old and still going strong - so I can certainly vouch for their product quality.

@dvshrt: My first flashdrive that I bought was a 512 MB Lexar that I paid nearly $60 for. (And boy did I feel like a champ walking around with all that storage in my pocket!) Worked perfectly until I lost it 4 years later.

@dvshrt, @thiney49: Lol, I remember buying my first SD card for around $50 - I think it was a 256MB. It wasn't all that long ago - maybe 10 years at the most. It's amazing how the price of new technology drops once it's no longer new :)
@nightvein: thanks for pointing that out. I think it was only a deal for yesterday. I'll expire it.
