dealssam's club - one-year membership, $20 gift card…

vote-for33vote-against

New members only. Good deal for those who are eligible.

vote-for17vote-against

I had to check the food deal. You get vouchers for a chicken, a whole pizza, and a box of cookies. All are pretty good.

vote-for9vote-against

Sam's prices (in my area at least) aren't even that great on many products. If I pay a membership fee AND I'm buying in bulk, the prices should be lower than other stores.

vote-for17vote-against

However, from the livingsocial "fine print" tab
"• New Member is defined as someone who does not have a currently valid membership".

In for 1, Mine JUST expired last week.

vote-for7vote-against

Basically a free membership for a year. In for 1.

vote-for-3vote-against

"New Member is defined as someone who does not have a currently valid membership." Therefore unless you have a membership, I think this deal is valid. Am I wrong?

I ended up using the link above... the following link works too :)

@kovo: Generally I buy store-brand at grocery stores. Sam's usually lets me get the name brand for the same price or less. I've found some things to be MUCH cheaper: baby formula, diapers, spices, vanilla extract, yeast, ground beef. I don't get much else. Some things are about the same so I just get them while I'm there.

They'll let you walk around and check prices, you just can't buy anything without a membership card. Do your own price shopping.

vote-for4vote-against

Kraft Mac and Cheese is crazy cheap with their 12 pack. I think it works out to 68 cents a box. Strawberries are always $3.20 for 2 lbs and if you use the freshmatic kits they have a 5 pack for $14.30 which is dirt cheap to a stores $4.50 each.

vote-for3vote-against

Just popped in on the weekend and my membership had expired. I wanted to get some hotdogs for a local event and I was going to renew my membership on Wednesday. Nice timing!

vote-for2vote-against

great deal. pass it around

vote-for5vote-against

I bought 100 hot dogs there for $10 one time. I mean it wasn't Hebrew National, but it was still Ballpark.
Basic groceries run about 10% cheaper. But some of the gourmet stuff they have is crazy. Mozarella, real parmesian, really fatty ribeye. Awesome stuff.

vote-for8vote-against

Heads up: I did this last year, and they required me to use all the food vouchers the same day I signed up even though I didn't need a pizza and a chicken for dinner the same night.

Their cookies are amazing!

vote-for0vote-against

I ordered mine today and Im already a member. Whats going to happen? Am I stuck with this? I thought this would have been a cool deal to renew my membership. I know that it is probably too soon to tell but has anyone had any problems?

vote-for-21vote-against

good deal.. i have Costco, Walmart is too big of a company.
i support local stores

vote-for2vote-against

@wilfbrim: Sounds like I just bought myself a party. I'm good with that.

vote-for4vote-against

in for one. i also have a costco membership, but this is close to my work and it will be easier to pop in. couldn't beat the deal either.

vote-for2vote-against

By the numbers this is a good deal, but as someone who's been a member of both, Costco blows Sam away in pretty much everything: product quality, prices, customer service,cleanliness... it isn't even close. Sam does have a better selection, but you're paying more for worse stuff. But if you're in an area where there isn't a convenient Costo, this deal is well worth it.

vote-for12vote-against

@tonny7497: LOL. First time I've ever seen someone try to compare Costco to their local grocer. Sorry to interrupt you, pot; carry on calling the kettle black.

vote-for21vote-against

I'm a Sam's employee. The internal document stated that the voucher is good for renewals, but that that information would not be given on the LivingSocial offer page. So, current members should be able to use it for renewing their membership.

vote-for5vote-against

Costco is where it's at people, Costco.

vote-for7vote-against

Don't support Wal-mart. They screw over their employees, especially younger ones. When I was 18, I was injured while on the job (broken hand), and was supposed to be out for 10 days. I was an unloader and could not work with a broken hand. On the 5th day (after missing 4 days), they called me saying they were severely shorthanded. I refused, but they convinced me to come in as only 4 guys showed up to do 8 guys works unloading a truck. I was told i would do minimal work and I liked my co-workers. I show up, clock in and see that everyone is there. They lied to me. When I got my check, I was short the week's pay for the days I missed. They told me I had to be out 5 days straight for workers comp pay. They hosed me, when I had no money, to save the corporation a measly $300 that I desperately needed. This is their policy. I saw it happen to others too.

Costco has better prices, pay their employees and, unlike Wal-mart, taxpayers don't foot their employees healthcare.

vote-for2vote-against

How do you get the $20 Gift Card / Food Vouchers? I bought one, how do I actually go and register, do I have to go into the store?

vote-for0vote-against

Costco master race reporting in.

vote-for0vote-against

Another thing I noticed about this deal is it it qualifies for 3 extra points per $1 if you use your Chase Freedom credit card. Woo Hoo!!! I just got a Chase Freedom credit card about a month ago and I am qualified for this deal. I will definitely be taking advantage of this deal.

vote-for2vote-against

@katanaryda: I LOL'd at this. I went ahead and purchased this deal even though I have a Costco membership, never hurts to have access to Sam's Club.

vote-for2vote-against

@bigshtank: Regarding taxpayers footing employee healthcare: No joke. Part-timers, as of last year, must have a minimum average of 30 hours per week to qualify for their health insurance coverage. (It was 20-something in '10 or '11, no minimum before that, and only applies to new hires.) Why/how this is even legal, I do not understand.

As you can guess, few if any part-time employees have a weekly average of 30 hours or more. Also, I don't know if it's universal in the company, but the Sam's Club I work at has a policy of hiring no new full-time employees except in positions where it is perceived as necessary (departmental supervisors, "plus champions" [the people who talk at you trying to get you to sign up for 'Plus' memberships and credit cards {don't buy the Plus membership, it's not worth it for 99.9% of people}], and the like).

vote-for2vote-against

Thanks, I live alone, so buying in bulk is usually a waste, but but this makes it worth it!

vote-for0vote-against

Never been to Sam's Club.
Do they have anything organic, or healthy things at all in their stores?
Costco does here and there. But they are more of a junk food store.

vote-for3vote-against

Purchased and confirmed! This is an AWESOME deal. Me and my fiance have been going to Costco for years, but Sam's has many things Costco doesnt. I had to jump on this deal. Now we can have the best of both worlds!

vote-for6vote-against

@tonny7497: You remind me of a guy that I spoke to once when i worked at target.. He said in his snobbiest voice nodding at his wife "We are not Wal-Mart people, we are Target & Sam's Club people."

vote-for3vote-against

@buckethead25: They will email you all the vouchers within 24 to 48hrs. That is what it said.

vote-for0vote-against

@mrc131: Costco doesn't build where poor people live, at least not from what I've seen. No Costcos in WV, maybe 1 in KY, none in northeast TN, etc. Sams Club covers all these areas. Maybe I'd shop at Costco if they didn't feel like they were too good to locate here.

vote-for-14vote-against

If you don't mind helping out others, purchase from my link. Thanks in advance. BTW this is a great deal!

vote-for-7vote-against

i see some people doesn't understand my comment.
I mention it was a good deal and i already have a Costco membership..
never said: "Costco was a local store" how somebody interrupt that.. i
have no idea.. Costco and Walmart is not a local store.. never will be.
please read my comment few times before you flam me and not understanding
the context of the post.

vote-for9vote-against

@tonny7497: Please take a shot at improving your language skills before you criticize those who are not fluent in jibberish.

vote-for3vote-against

@boyco: How does this benefit you? Just curious.

vote-for2vote-against

Not everyone has a Costco though. There are none near us. Until then, FREE at Sams Club is better than paying for Sams Club. I believe it's good until 06-18-13 so if your membership expires before that, I'd let it lapse and then use this. I just let mine lapse around Christmas because I don't really use it that often. But for nearly free, I'll use this and renew.

vote-for2vote-against

If three people buy from his link, his is free. THat's how it benefits you. You can post your link on facebook, etc. If three people buy from your link - your deal is free at living social.

vote-for-12vote-against

Good deal :) year membership is only 40$ normaly but the gift card/food makes up for that. I hate to ask but It would help me out if you buy this from my link..? :) Its worth a shot. Thanx!

vote-for5vote-against

In my community the gas prices alone make this deal phenomenal, and that's if you never even walk into the store.

vote-for6vote-against

I support Woot deleting links that benefit the poster financially. If they didn't, imagine all the garbage we would see here.

vote-for2vote-against

Does anyone know what the steps are for redeeming the voucher?

Go to customer service, get your membership activated and pick up the food vouchers and gift cards at customer service? Or does it involve the register first?

Anyone who went through it last time they offered it want to chime in?

vote-for1vote-against

I can't wait to use this! Thanks for the great deal. There's one of these places right around the corner from my house. So much closer than the Costco 20mins away.

vote-for-1vote-against

S0me0ne could be jeal0us.

A deal is a deal. The deal doesn't change whether or not one uses the OP's link, or anyone else's link. Is it against the rules? If so, then I understand. However, by no means did the deal change because one uses someone's referral link.

I bought the deal NOT expecting to get any referrals and I am still short. Should I cry? Nope. Good deal!

vote-for1vote-against

Just got this in an email...."Due to the positive response of this deal, we have extended the offer to run until March 7, 2013."

vote-for2vote-against

@btraf311: Yep.... so now we have to wait until the 8th of March to redeem the offer, I was hoping to use it tomorrow... oh well.

vote-for2vote-against

To make up for any damages for the deal,
Walmart want you to know that they wont be raising any prices.
It will be coming out of their employees wages.
