Xcom Collection can be activated through steam. Great deal

I picked up Spec Ops: The Line, great price for only being released a few days ago. It activated on Steam fine as it is a steam supported title.

@mazuko: Yeah, 50% off for a game that released less than a week ago is fantastic. Picked it up as well

You can currently get the first two Bioshock games, Borderlands GOTY edition, and the new Duke Nukem games in a bundle for only $20. Great deal on 3 great games plus a Duke Nukem game. Here is the specific link if you want it.

Can someone explain what the difference is between number 5 and number 6? IS Battlefield 2 complete collection just a dlc or is it the actual game as well?

vote-for3vote-against

@afroxxjoe: They're different games. BF2 is a 2005 game and the compete collection includes all the expansions. BF:Bad Company 2 is a 2010 game.

REALLY tempted to get spec ops... but i need to stick with the xbox version if want any chance of playing multiplayer with people i know... ugh - decisions.

@afroxxjoe: What @benman587 said.

Battlefield 2 is a sequel to Battlefield 1942.

Battlefield: Bad Company 2 is the sequel to Battlefied: Bad Company.

Also the Bad Company games have a single player story mode. Battlefield 2 does not.

I spend waaay too much of my teen years playing X-com. I even created tables of profit from manufacturing (Craft FBL is the best, but requires Alien Alloys). Great game, even now. Sure the graphics don't compare to any modern game, but the playability is definitely there. Getting for $3 (and seeing if I can also buy to gift it).
I would say get it for your netbook, but the game is really too involving for a netbook. After the 2nd game it went downhill, though, so I don't expect much from the last two.

Crap. I just posted this again.

For you fellow Mac users out there, if the game is downloaded through Steam you can activate it with the CD key you get from Amazon and download the mac version. Granted I have only done this with Crusader Kings II but it should work for any game downloaded through steam that also has a Mac version on steam

@bro3of4: you'll be happy to know that a modern refresh of the series is coming out later this year. I'm not talking about the FPS game set in the 60's (although that looks decent too - it really isn't an xcom game - just using it's ipo and some similarities.)

e3 showed some previews for xcom: enemy unknown - a reboot of the original ufo: enemy unknown. turn based strategy, combined with cinematic event scenes, etc... more focus on the HQ, and in general - a hopefully kick ass game. I'm pre-ordered :)
