Well I bought one. I guess I'll figure out if it's good or not.

@hozay: Thanks for taking one for the team!

Putting my faith in the power of Woot. Buying one for use as a monitor.

(W/o checking actual model #'s) I have a 28" Hannspree 1080 LCD HDTV for my computer monitor, and love it. I like it so much I went and picked up an upconverting DVD player so I can watch movies on it. I hope the model I have is better then this one, seeing as though I paid 400+ for it with in the last year.....
Grrrr

I have a 21.5" 1080p monitor by HannsG. I doubt that its really that different. It seems alright to me, although I have only had it for about 5 months. One thing Im not a fan of is that its a little light around the edges during dark scenes when watching movies. other than that its pretty good for all that I do.

@clutchsins: Was going to happen sooner or later. But really, I looked around and did not see a better price for what they were offering in terms of specs and brand (even asked my brother cause he's better at that than I am).

I will say that you don't have to be a member to get it you can just sign in as a guest so that's pretty nice.

Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Hannspree-Xv-HT09-widescreen-FullHD/dp/B001G2UEPC/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top

Some are worried that the aspect ratio is 16x10 instead of 16x9 and doesn't automatically adjust to 16x9 so the image gets stretched. See reviews on amazon.

Since they don't mention it anywhere, I'll assume this is 60Hz or lower?

@tyross

Lower? I really hope not. I'm gonna get this one, and I'd really like something that refreshes well.

Hmmm, tempting. I really would like a 32", but this is pretty close, and a decent price. I think I'll give it a little while and see if I can get something better

I am not a BJ member. What is the membership price?

vote-for2vote-against

We use these at work on all 10 of our computers. We bought them over a year ago and haven't had a problem yet. Great lcd for that price!

Members and non-members get the same price on the site.

@snowboarder27118: That's only an issue if you're using it as a TV. If your intention is to use it as a monitor (which mine is) then your graphics card should be outputting the correct resolution. I'm not positive, but I'd imagine that any number of good quality media providers (namely DVD/Blu-Ray players) would correctly convert from 16x9 to 16x10.

I'm told that Hannspree is the Handsfree brand but manufactured in the Philippines.

@misfit77:

My Receipt says $264 and some change. I didn't need to sign up either.

I bought one of these about six months ago and its a great TV for the money. I highly recommend.

I bought one a month ago to use as a monitor. I have ended up using it as a TV as well. The digital tuner works great, plenty of input options, and the remote is even pretty decent.
My only complaint is that the speakers sound really good with HDMI plugged in or with the digital tuner, but awful through analog input. I remedied the problem by running sound out through external speakers.

They seem to have upped the price to $299.99, making it $314.03 with shipping.
