I can't speak for every PJ's out there, but I like getting pizza from the chain near my work. I have met the shop owner and he's a pretty decent gentleman who has donated a lot of money to charity events and school activities. Plus he's been an avid support of hiring disabled workers whom always seem pretty happy everytime I stop by. It's just a shame that the Papa John's owner can be a melodramatic whiner.

To each his/her own.

i have not spent menu price at papa johns for years, to be honest i only order from them since they constantly run 50% off or free

Support your local pizza business. Look for a good one on Yelp. You can do it.

First, Pappa John’s is a franchise, so the owner of the individual restaurant probably doesn’t live in a castle. Secondly please make sure to tell us how we should spend our money, not just the wealthy, I mean we all should probably listen to you tell us how to spend our money. Third, people who complain about the rich are coveting , try not to do that. Forth, I like Pappa John’s pizza, and I’ve worked for a pizza restaurant, and didn’t expect benefits to be paid out, I expected what I got paid, that was the agreement work=money.

Hey all. Just a reminder that everyone is entitled to an opinion and an opinion can't be wrong. Facts supporting an opinion might be up for debate but an opinion is not.

So please do not attack or go after another poster for their opinion. Respect each other and keep any angst pointed at the proper parties... not each other.

Thank you.

Sigh Is a deal posting page really the place to voice political grievances? People can make their own choices. Let's let people save money if this is theirs.

vote-for5vote-against

Just stop!
This is about the 50% off deal, not your personal opinions about the owner or the pizza. If you don't like it then move along. There is no reason or excuse to sit here and argue over the internet. Your going to get nowhere but upset.
If you like the deal, thank the OP and upvote. If you don't then just downvote and move along. No point in spamming a thread with hate.

Just to clarify--the voting is for he superbowl coin toss, not for your favorite pizza store! And if you don't like Papa John's, don't buy it, you are entitled to your opinion, but you don't have to call people names if they don't agree with you.

@thericochet: At twice the price for half the pizza. A PJs large enough to feed me and my friend (with pizza bones for the dog and a piece left over for a workday lunch) with all the toppings we want is $7.58 with tax on this deal. A little pizza I can eat by myself with two or three toppings runs $9-14 plus tax at the local eateries. I am a big proponent of local eateries, but the locals can't touch the chains for price and quantity. And I like both quite well, so I am not making some huge sacrifice in taste for the cheap pizza. We have an enormous military base here and pizza is extremely competitive. Pizza places make good pizzas, as ordered, and fast (always ready for pick up within 20 minutes after I place the online order), or they go out of business very quickly.

@thunderthighs Thanks I get tired of all the nonsense.

Good deal worked for me. I do prefer Papa Murphy's Take n' Bake Pizzas but rather than drive 2.5 hours to buy a decent pizza I'll take this deal thanks.

@rmsalt: Tyranny? Really? I'm prone to hyperbole myself so I get where you're coming from. Like yesterday it was literally 5000 degrees below zero outside. Literally.

vote-for1vote-against

Standing up against tyranny? Really? You people never cease to amaze me. And yet I'm the one with the negative votes... Oh well just keep attacking the working class. Not like Americans needed health care anyways. The same people call themselves "Christians"

Go buy 3 pizzas so I get to pay for your triple bypass surgery too...

vote-for1vote-against

Was planning on ordering a pizza tonight anyways. Thanks for the heads up.

And once again, I have to say to all the Debby Downers, if you don't like Papa John's pizza, why do you even come here to comment. For example, the moron who posts the picture of the "castle" every time. Quit hating! You just wish you could make a pizza like Papa John's! No reason to ever pay menu price at Papa John's with all the discounts they offer, but the pizza is delicious. I'd rather have a frozen or microwave pizza than some slop a local pizzeria tries to throw together.

@thericochet: Not all of us are so lucky. http://www.yelp.com/search?find_desc=&find_loc=idaho+falls%2C+id&ns=1#cflt=pizza&show_filters=1 There is one, count em, one highly rated indy pizza place where I live. I've been there. I don't love it. Very inconsistent quality, and very, very slow for NY pizza. When I lived in California, I never touched "chain" pizza. But, out here, 7.50 for mediocre chain pizza sounds better to me than an often grease-slimed, fair-quality NY-style pizza that can take an hour and a half to get, and getting to pay upwards of $25 for the privilege. And that's when they aren't busy. I'm happy to pay that much for good pizza, and do every time I travel to CA or another more densely-populated region, but at home, when I want "pizza", I typically either purchase whatever deal the big chains have, or go to the local buffet pizza place (sadly, self-titled "gourmet" because they include such extravagant toppings as "buffalo chicken").

They are FRANCHISES people. Get a GRIP. Local businesses. Local owned. They employ locally. Their pizza is GREAT. 'nuff said.

@thunderthighs: So who made you the queen of the universe.......oh, wait. You ARE the queen of this universe. Apologies, majesty.

Webster Dictionary- Tyranny: A form of government in which the ruler is a dictator (not restricted by a constitution or laws) Yep, we're heading there.

Yeah I can't wait until one day I can run a successful business and skimp on everything... you know... like important things like AUTO INSURANCE and make my drivers pay for it themselves... Something you probably don't know... commercial auto insurance is expensive. They don't provide cars... and if you get in an accident, they log you out and tell you to tell the cops/insurance company you were on your way home. And then once I become successful, I'll treat my employees to poor wages and make them work part-time because there's always a loophole. You people that are giving the people negative votes because of their opinions are the same ones worried about a few thousand dollars for someone on welfare VS multiple millions of dollars that cheapskates like Papa John are doing whatever they can to avoid. So why don't you just go back to your bigot-fil-a and have a nice warm intolerant sandwich? Oh yeah my bad... I'm just jealous of "SUCCESS". Creepy nickname for old guy.Papa John

@bigray57: You can understand why his employees have to go without health care. Must cost a bundle just to heat and cool that HOUSE.

I love these liberals who complain about everything. Sorry the world isn't perfect for everyone; however, those who work hard and push their limits achieve greatness. Those who just complain about choices an executive made due to Obamacare (ironic that liberals always complain about Papa John's, no?). A minimum wage restaurant doesn't need to cover healthcare. That's illogical.

vote-for-5vote-against

Is lousy pizza at a low price still a good deal ?

vote-for-6vote-against

Sorry, Papa John's tastes like millionaire greed-tears now. Can't order from them again.

vote-for-7vote-against

Boycott his sorry excuse for a pizza. My entire family and friends have stopped going there. This guy is so rich he built himself a CASTLE to live in, but he can't afford to pay part of his worker's healthcare. Boycotts do work as Darden (the parent company of Olive Garden) tried the same stunt and when people stopped going to their restaurants, they reversed course.

vote-for-7vote-against

How dare a pizza place not support Big Powerful Government (the death of every country). I'm ordering 3 large pizzas tonight. Thanks Papa Johns for standing up against tyranny.
