OK, so do they have to do this every single **ing time they release one of these movies to disc? Good deal, but this is getting kinda ridiculous.

This link is for the UK version... i.e. PAL
So, some people in the US might not have the appropriate equipment to view it. If you have a multisystem BR player, or TV, or live in a PAL area then you're good to go.
The American version is $70 on Amazon.com

I ordered this back in the beginning of December and I still haven't received it from uk amazon. They said it should come by today so we shall see. I'll update later today.

@62mackinnon
Actually PAL and NTSC don't apply to bluray. The only concern is if the releasing studio has the bluray region locked or not. If it is region free then it will play on any U.S. bluray player, and at worst might require a firmware update. This collection is region free so you should have no problems. Good deal too. I've ordered many bluray boxsets from amazon UK for a fraction of the U.S. releases.

I bought these for Christmas last time they were on woot and they work perfectly on my ps3 and a Sony bluray player I tested. All UK version blurays work fine.

I also bought this, but around thanksgiving and it works great in my bluray player and my PS3.

Not sure what's going on, but I ordered this the last time it showed up on deals.woot on Dec 15 of last year...they put the delivery estimate at Jan 11, 2011....and I still dont have it. It's been more than 30 days now...how long does it take to get a pack of blu-rays through customs via mail?

I wonder if they just put it on a raft and shoved it into the ocean hoping it would show up here some day...I'll be calling amazon later to find out, because...damn...

I will pass and wait until I can buy a box set of all 8 movies. I can't really justify buying a 90% complete box set, when the entire set will be available by Christmas.

@tomduff87: Yep...same thing is happening to me. I contacted them via email and they said Jan 19th by the latest. So, if it does not arrive via courier pigeon today, some not very nice words will be said.

Just an FYI for anyone considering these, i bought them last time they were up and they play fine on my US bluray player. apparently many WB blurays have no region encoding on them, so buy with confidence!

this should give you a good idea of what will and will not play on your bluray player. everything in green is region free. http://bluray.liesinc.net/ ...and yes this set is region free and works great on my ps3

I bought this in December from Amazon.co.uk for me in the US. They are region locked, but Woot recently had a region free blue-ray player which handles them beautifully.

Amazon.co.uk does take a little while to ship. I live in Germany and it took nearly two months, patience works well here. Also, works perfect in US PS3...from the Philosopher's Stone to the Half-Blood Prince.

@ tomduff87 & nbassani: Same thing happened to me. I contacted them about it, and they sent another set out.

@ hairybutt: No, these are not region locked. I have now purchased three of these sets for myself and as gifts, and not a single one of them has been region locked in any way, shape or form and have played without issue on 4 different stand-alone bluray players and two different PS3s.

If you're ordering on Amazon.co.uk from the US, you better not care when it arrives. I'm at 35+ days on waiting for the Alien Anthology [Blu]. The site was very helpful when I e-mailed them about the issue (they sent another copy), but I've been dying to see the flicks. It was a huge cash savings so I can't complain too much.

Everyone else should be aware before ordering though.

It must be hit or miss on the shipping times. Last time I ordered a couple bluray boxsets from Amazon.co.uk I ordered on a Saturday and received them all that Wednesday with standard shipping.

I bought them before the holidays from amazon.co.uk. The deal was about the same. They work perfectly in the US on the blu-ray players. It's quite the good deal.

I have ordered Blu-rays from Amazon UK and the shipping was fairly quick. I agree though, Ill wait till all of them are out before I buy them all.

Be aware, this set include the Philosopher's Stone, not the Sorcerer's Stone. U.S. fans might be confused, but it's okay, it's really not a different movie. See, here's the thing, when Scholastic bought the U.S. rights to the book they thought U.S. kids would not want to read a book with the word philosopher in the title, so they changed it to sorcerer. Of course that killed the key connection to alchemy, but who cares if a key plot point is lost, as long as it's entertaining, right? Besides it's going to turn all U.S. children into little Satanists and should be banned anyway, just like those other horrible horrible brain washing books like The Adventures of Tom Sawyer and To Kill a Mockingbird. Wankers.

Are these the theatrical versions, or the extended versions? Extras?
