Aluminum Credit Card Wallet - RFID Blocking Case for $1.99
Believe it or not, but the crazy man was onto something. Aluminum does indeed guard against radio frequency transmissions by blocking the waves. In real life, however, neither aliens nor governments have found ways to harness such powers. On the other hand, there are hackers out there that have. They have access to RFID (Radio Frequency IDentification) devices that can pretty much do what a barcode scanner does, but from as far as 20 feet away. They can steal information from ATM and credit cards that include all the information someone needs to clone the card and make fraudulent charges on it — the account number, expiration date, CVV2 security code and, in the case of some older cards, the card holder’s name. Even worse, they can also get information off of access cards such corporate and government-issued ID cards that can prove to be a real asset in the process of identity theft.
