whichever comes first. Supplies are limited so act now.
thanks, in for 4.
@kamikazeken: It says only 2 per household. How did you do 4?
two to my address (my name + my wife's name) two more to my parents' house, and possibly 2 more to my inlaws and 2 more to my sister.
sis & in laws are in TX & Ohio, and we see them a few times a year. TX and OH are two of the states on the list besides Cali where I live and where my parents live. Should be able to get 8. AT LEAST...
what's the "no beer purchase required" list of states? does it mean something if your state isn't listed?
Hey wait for me I have not even printed out the form yet. Easy does it fellow beer buddies.
@internettraditions: it means you need to send in 6 bottle caps if your state isn't listed.
@internettraditions: you have to send in the real caps for those states the way I read the form.
@kamikazeken: thanks. guess i'll just have to get that liver-shaped beer stein instead.
Thanks for the picture. Just one question....
who drank the beer? Because the picture I saw had beer in the glass. Come on, share with the rest of us.
Damn MD.
@mfladd: post on cragislist that you need 6 caps. Or buy a 6-pack... it's good beer!
@kamikazeken: I know. Just would have been easier with the printout. I am just not willing to put in the time of sending in the actual caps. Dogfish Head - I would take the time.
Let's see how many relatives can I talk into letting me borrow their address.....
Thank you
Not sure how many of you have ever played Caps (two teams of two sit across from each other about 15 feet away and take turns throwing caps at the other team's pint glass), but Newcastle caps were always the best for it (great weight). We still have most of ours... so... in for like 20?
For anyone who lives in a state where the purchase is required you need this .pdf Doesn't really bother me, I drink newcastle anyways. So its still Free to me.
Texans have to pay 2 dollars...:(
It says you have to include postage. Does anyone know how much postage they expect you to include?
I was just about to ask the same question...what would you send in Postage? $5?? It just says sufficient postage while leads me to believe it's a scam. They take my money and tell me it's not enough!?!?
Every glass comes with unlimited junk mail and special offers just for you!
@darkelvis88: Sufficient postage is for the envelope you send them, not for the glasses they send you. Since some people have to send in the actual bottle caps, they are telling you to make sure you use enough stamps to cover the weight of the envelope. If you're just sending in the form with the "virtual" bottlecaps, then a regular stamp should suffice.
@dkhublall: I actually got one of these a year or two ago from the same offer. I never recieved any junk mail.
This glass is not dishwasher safe though, well it's safe to wash in the dishwasher but you'll start to lose the logo on the outside of the glass. I might try and order again so I can have a glass with a full logo again!
hmmm, already going for 2 1/2 months, wonder if the supplies are exhausted yet?
I also got one of these last year. Definitely not a scam, and I never received any junk mail or spam from them.
Great deal. Down for a few
@evansjc: As per the site -
808 glasses ordered
24,192 glasses available
Available glass count updated weekly
My guess is that after this week the count will be 0
Boo... SC is not in the list of states, which means I have to go buy 6 beers in order to get the glass... no thanks...
@oldirtdog: Why would you be interested in a Newcastle Brown Ale glass if you aren't interested in drinking Newcastle Brown Ale at home?
@internettraditions:
I read this differently than others. They are simply making clear that they are complying with the law in some states. For these states AND the others they are simply supplying the caps as a picture which everyone can use.
@xxooss: That's the awesome state special beer glass tax
Failure to submit all required personal information and the six (6) actual Newcastle bottle caps will result in rejection of your request for a glass.
Hmmmm..... So PA is on BOTH lists.... the one that says caps ARE required and the one that caps ARE NOT required??? Naturally they make it tough in a state that doesn't sell Sixers anywhere but bars....
@internettraditions: If your state is not listed, you must purchase the beer and include 6 actual bottle caps.
in for two!
I love new castle!
its one of my tops choices for brews!
Did this a couple years back. Got a very nice glass in the mail, it goes with my complete mismatch set of beer glasses: Sam Adams, Sierra Nevada, Guinness and Chimay.
Work's blocking access. Anybody got a way to get to the pdf w/o going through Newcastle's website?
I did this a year or so a go and got a couple nice glasses - would like to add to a brutha's collection :-)
sigh, residents of Texas have to pay $2 that sucks :(
Ok.. I am confused.. can Florida purchase this ? I guess a stop at my Total Wine and Country is in order..and of course they could just possibly have the glasses there.. for sale.. :)
This just seems too complicated all of the sudden.
I'm in Florida.
@wootbretz: I'm not a fan of the brown either. I have not had the Summer yet, but might would try it if I had the glass. Unfortunately I have to buy the six to get the glass, as I'm in SC as well. Go Gamecocks!!
In for 4! Missed this deal last time, thanks!
NY is not listed on the first page, but it is listed on the second page, odd. I'm gonna give it a try.
In for two.
These are sweet.
Got in on this last time around. Nice glasses, use it all the time. In for another.
@heykb: they mean you need to put enough stamps on the envelope that you use to mail the form/caps in to them. NOT that you have to pay shipping charges for the glass to your address. They included that so that people who have to mail in real caps don't forget to weigh their envelope before they mail it (so it doesn't show up "postage due" at newcastle.)
for people wondering why they have to send in caps or don't, or why texas has to pay for the glass, it's all dependent on your state's liquor/beer/wine laws. Some states feel that liquor/beer companies giving anything away that has a logo is encouraging excessive alcohol consumption. This is why some states have laws requiring promotions like this to offer a no-purchase-needed option. More nanny-state BS in my opinion, but hey, write your state legislature if it bothers you.
@tatterbits: Total Wine in Jacksonville has the beer/glass sets.
@heykb: Read it more carefully, they specify that YOUR envelope must have sufficient postage, as in, they won't send you a glass if there is a postage-due request.
Thanks so much for posting this deal! I got one last year - and sent one to each of my kids and siblings - then waited to hear from each one their surprise. Fun times....
My glass got a chip on the bottom just the other day so I'm glad to be getting another!
@kamikazeken: You sneaky sneaky snake. I'm impressed man, you're awesome at doubling+ up on stuff with the quickness :D
Anyways, great deal. I'm glad I just happen to look at the leaderboard (which I don't normally do very often) and I saw this as one of the stand-out deals for something. Probably would have missed otherwise.
In for some.
@bryan986: same thing. Fingers crossed for NY residents. Can't hurt to try for the price of a stamp.
