Digital River is attempting to bounce me back to Ubisoft now. Currently trying to get DR to authorize something better than a 25% off apology.
i have also sent two individual emails , and will follow up this to the bitter end :D
So, contacted support, this is what I got:
"Unfortunately we cannot offer more than the 25% off coupon code that was given to as an apology from Digital River. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience.

I shall pursue contact with Digital River then!
the cheapest thing was to offer only a 25% discount coupon. I won't shop from them again.
Wow, I thought when the key said processing all weekend that it was a mistake, and they needed to decide how to handle it. So I figured they would either give the game away and have good PR, or say it was a mistake. I did not expect them to give the game away one day, allow you to download it, install it, and then find out there's a key needed and then get an email saying it was a mistake and there would be no key... that's just dirty.

I was hoping maybe it was a super limited promotion for ACIII, but it was just a mistake. Stupid Ubisoft.
