$21.39 (after Tax here in NJ) for an 8-port gigabit switch is a great deal. Shame there's a limit of 5 per customer, I would have bought 10 of them and resold them in a month or two :-P
just bought two for $39.98
Great price. Maybe worth a chance at this price but read the reviews first. There is a lot of information in them (as well as fluff)
I've bought Trendnet switches before and they always last about 6 months and then slowly die. If you care about your network traffic spend a few extra bucks and get a better switch.
There is a reason that Newegg is clearing them out...high RMA/Return rate. Read the reviews.
@petepapin1969: I can't speak for this device, but I have a TrendNET router/switch that's lasted for at least 4 years and, over its life, has been restarted maybe 3 times (other than when I've changed settings, etc), compared to my prior Netgear which required restarting at least once day toward the end of its life.
Great deal. I agree that if there were not a limit I would buy 10 as well. Thanks for the post!
great find. in for one!
Great timing!!! I needed one to connect my two servers together. The sad thing is this costs as much as the two Poweredge 2850’s combined that I got from my County’s Surplus Sale
I own two of these and they have been in constant use for last three years with zero problems. Never had to restart, unplug, anything.
In for 2. Thanks, w00ters!
I have one of these. Been in continual use since December 2010. Only issue turned out to be a faulty broadcom bluetooth driver on a T410 notebook. Brought the entire network down.
bought one a year ago and.... it's glitchy when hot. Didn't stand up to continuous use as my backbone switch, but it's been running fine as a media cabinet switch where it stays cool.
I bought 2 of these 6 months ago at this price. They are the backbone for my house and lick into a netgear gaming router. Couldn't be more pleased with the speed and reliability. I wish my ISP providers modem worked half as good. Can't beat the price for the product.
I bought this model when amazon had it as a lightning deal, have been using it since then and never had to power down/reset.
So this is the TEG-S8g. I have 2 TEG-S80g switches. They're the same base price. Other than looks, is there any difference?
I have owned nearly every brand of networking device, from routers to access points to switches. My experience leads me to believe that no matter the brand, they occasionally crap out. Seeing as how just last week I spent the same money on a 5 port switch gigabit switch I was happy to see this one at such a discounted price. In for one. Thanks.
awesome deal i needed a switch. grabbed 2 and also got 6% cash back by using my chase freedom card
I have quite a few of this switch, superb reliability and good speed. Highly recommended, especially at this price.
@riuele2: Chase Freedom's place this quarter is online retailers/newegg?
In for 1!
@raynich: its not the quarterly thing. It's all the time. You need to go to the ultimate rewards on the chase Site and they give you 5 extra points per dollar on newegg
i have had one of these for about 2 years and they work great.
I've had one of these for about 8 months and it's been perfect...no complaints whatsoever.
PROMO ENDS 8.8
@riuele2: Ahh!!
Thanks for the reminder!
