Seems like a good idea. I went looking around to find out the weight of this (with batteries installed) to determine how much it would pull down on my gear loft and instead found a few negative reviews about the battery compartment not being very well designed and popping open. Also mentions of the fan itself being pretty weak:

We use these in our ice fishing portables to move circulate heat and dry condensation on the walls. They last a surprisingly long time on battery. If I didn't already have enough I'd buy more now!
