These look a lot like small torture devices – even though they bring so much pleasure

@kellylane:
make sure you follow the step to select the correct shop... if you pick the default - you're correct... it doesn't work with the code... Pick the right shop... good to go!

@mikeytoad: Yeah, it does work. I just did it.

Select "Luzy's Storage Place" from the "More buying choices" box on the right.

I guess I must just live a very simple life, but I can't see spending $40 for special implements for cutting cakes!

Plus--read the reviews. Seems like quite a few buys weren't terribly impressed.

@donslin: I'm not sure you know what this is for. It's not for cutting a cake into slices to serve but to cut the cake horizontally so you have even and consistent layers. That way, you can put filling in it.

Sure, you can do without it but it's more difficult to keep the same thickness or even.

@first2summit: Yes, I did know that. I looked it over and read the description and understood perfectly. (I"M not simple, just my lifestyle.)
I don't do much baking myself, but my mother used to slice cake layers horizontally when she was making a cake for a special occasion or if she just felt like being a little 'fancy & creative', and she did a great job with a length of fishing line. I remember her making one that she even alternated devils food & white layers and chocolate & vanilla cream icing to fill in between the layers.
