This is a Shiny deal they seem to run every year at this time. But if there are any Browncoats who are out in the black without the Blu, now's the time. See you in the world!

I hope the blu-ray adds something, because I just bought this.

Doesnt everyone already have two copies of this? One to watch, one to keep unopened?

vote-for2vote-against

I grabbed one. Not a bad price and my wife has been bugging me to get the box set of Firefly.

vote-for3vote-against

@aoviss: Why would you keep one u opened? I don't think this would ever gain value.

vote-for2vote-against

Picked up Serenity while I was at it. That was the first time I had to pay tax with Amazon...grrr

I hope the menus are better than those on the DVD. They were so annoying and slow!

Excellent show, murdered by idiot network executives.
I don't own a blu-ray player (yet) but I'm still in for one.

Shiny. BluRay worth the price of admission.

Joss Whedon is my master. Must buy more Firefly.

@aoviss: Hehe, I certainly do. Got the regular dvd a few years ago and the missus surprised me with the BluRay last Xmas. It looks better than dvd and netflix streaming imho.

@brandon2802: No, I mean buy two, open one to watch, even knowing millions were made, and anyone that would collect it has one, or two. I just dont know who else is buying this. Star Wars isnt even selling this good.

I didnt know about Firefly - saw a commercial but never knew when it was on - but was working in Japan half the season anyways. I even didnt see the movie because I thought the Captain was one of the Sheen brothers (saw some free posters laying out at the theater, grabbed a few anyways).

I then took a friend's advice and watched an episode I rented from Netflix. I then pirated all the DVDs, and liked it so much I bought them anyways. Then another set to not open. I even bought a HD-DVD player because at the time Universal was NEVER going to make BR movies.

Yep, I like Firefly. It had the element of Indiana Jones and a nerdy game my brother would play, Star Frontiers"(?), Blade Runner being force-fed into the old Tech West.

@cadapult: I agree....and I am also in for one without owning a blu ray player

@brandon2802: This version adds a 25-minute conversation among Whedon, Nathan Fillion, Ron Glass, and Alan Tudyk in which they discuss the series and a number of specific episodes (Fillion recalls thinking he was getting fired after the first episode), and a new commentary track by the four fellows on "Our Mrs. Reynolds." Also, it's on Blu Ray! In for one, and I already own it on DVD.

Great deal, I've been wanting to pick this up on Blu Ray, for this price I finally can.

vote-for2vote-against

I just did the same thing as some of you all. I don't currently have a blu ray player, but how can I pass up Firefly for blu ray at this price? It's less than I paid for it on DVD!

@aoviss: I was in a similar boat. I remembered seeing commercials but then didn't know when it was on. Then, long after cancellation, a buddy lent me the dvds and said "Trust me." I remember beginning and finishing the series in a weekend. Then I sent him a text saying F-off for bringing something that good into my life and telling me I couldn't have any more! Fun stuff.

Great deal, picking this up as a gift for my mom who just got a Blu-ray player.

vote-for2vote-against

Well dangit, I couldn't resist this. Incredible price for an incredible show!

Finally dead; selling for $49 now.
