I Love cast iron!...nuf said.
@wormburnr: Me too! Cast iron fajitas are delicious!
Cast iron is great to cook with. Have a mondo wok type cast iron pan right now that I cook with(5 pounds of sausage and peppers/fajitas anyone?). Weighs half a ton, but man it's great. Definitely requires extra care to prevent rust, though.
I started using cast iron cookware over this last year. There is a bit of a learning curve, but it is worth it. I have Lodge cast iron, not this particular piece though. I assume it is as good as the rest, and if you like to make fajitas, well...
Cast iron develops non-stick properties as you use it and as you season it. Brush it out immediately after use (after dinner) with a little hot water and a stiff brush and never use soap. Dry it immediately so it doesn't rust, then wipe a little oil inside of it (I use olive oil or canola oil.)
We don't use Teflon coated cookware in our home anymore. I don't want to sound kooky about it, but consider: if a little iron leaches into your food, that's something good your body can use anyway. Teflon doesn't provide anything good for you, to put it mildly.
I believe that most (if not all) lodge cookware is pre-seasoned at the factory. So long as you don't leave standing water in it and simply scrub it out with water and a brush it will stay seasoned. Make sure to dry it off after scrubbing. It doesn't hurt to put a thin coat of oil on the surface after that either.
if it starts to rust coat it in crisco, lard, etc and put it in the oven at 400 degrees for an hour. It'll get the non-stick coat back.
I've been using only cast-iron cookware for 12 years now with great success.
When you serve this remember, you're required to say "careful sir, hot plate"
As a bonus, Lodge is (mostly*) US-made, often for the same price or less than the Chinese import cast iron cookware.
*Lodge's enameled cast iron is Chinese made too though.

I have this cast iron skillet. Just like any other cast iron skillet it works great as long as you properly maintain it. This skillet itself is a little small for making fajitas, atleast the for me but maybe I'm putting too much meat/veggies in my fajitas. Other than that it gives the fajita meat a delicious cast iron flavor and its a sturdy piece of cookware.
You can't beat Lodge cast iron, I love my dutch oven from them.
