This would give my cat a stroke. Oh man, I'm so tempted!

It might even come in handy for my PingPong table too... :)

Over 100 dollars off.... not many reviews though over at the Amazon

My work got a ping pong table right before Christmas, and it gets frequent use by myself and many coworkers. This would really give me an edge! :)

But I'm not sure I want to go picking up dozens of balls from the break room, so I think I'll just continue playing other humans...

@zlassiter: that is a different product (you can control the type of spin and a lot of other things with it).

Still a great price though, these robots get costly.

I ordered one. I am looking forward to it.

What in the name of Nicodemus is this thing??

vote-for15vote-against

@zlassiter: The one you linked is a much more expensive version. For a more accurate depiction, here's the appropriate link:

http://www.amazon.com/Joola-I0-iPong-Topspin-Green/dp/B005HSWYAY/ref=sr_1_fkmr0_2?s=sporting-goods&ie=UTF8&qid=1336799142&sr=1-2-fkmr0

It's currently 79.99 on Amazon btw. The reviews seem totally non-existant.

It is made by Joola, and if you know anything about Ping Pong, Joola and Stiga are where it's at.

EDIT: @explosiveegg beat me to it :O

I was thinking the same thing Capguncowboy. $40 bucks for a dumb cat toy. I might have to consider this one!

vote-for7vote-against

Anyone else think this was a fruit basket at first glance?

vote-for29vote-against

I've always wanted a cheesy poof popper!

vote-for9vote-against

@beautyofmachines: I'm actually thinking it would still make a great fruit basket. You could send clementines shooting down to the other end of the banquet table.

I thought Apple held some sort of patent on product names starting with a lower case "i" followed by an uppercase "P."

I thought woot was selling a cheese ball maker.

I don't have the balls to buy this, but it looks like amazon has a 144 pack for $11 dollars, but then I have to wait for something else i want for free shipping. Maybe.

vote-for5vote-against

Is it just me or is that Bryant Park and the Grace Building in the product page background?

vote-for4vote-against

@laidbackoh: you don't have the balls to buy this, so you're going to buy the balls? so many jokes... explodes

vote-for4vote-against

First thought was cheesy puffs then I realized it's for beer pong, I mean ping pong

vote-for3vote-against

@zlassiter: You're looking at the Pro (which rotates, it seems, from my quick read).

This is the one you should be comparing to :

Pretty cheap machine. I've really been thinking about getting a table and robot, but I think I'd rather splurge and get a machine that has the back net that catches the balls and automatically reloads them into the machine. I think those are like $600 -$1200+, though. I'd probably have to at least buy some sort of catch net, with this, because I'd probably not want to pick the balls up, after the first round is done. Looks like it holds quite a few balls and that's a whole lot of picking up. I've used some of the really good robots at a table tennis club, and they're quite helpful. Having one of my own would really help my game. Just don't have the cash for a nice table (probably gonna run at least a grand), right now, and I don't really know what the Mrs. is going to say about having a table on the bottom level room (which is also the laundry room, entry way, extra storage room and elliptical machine room. I so want my own table and robot, though.

Yay my first woot! (:
I was considering not purchasing this as the balls would be tiring to pick up, but then I remembered that I want to play to be active. Kinda lazy to not wanna pick them up with a good attitude about it

The video is blocking the product pictures, in Chrome anyway...

vote-for3vote-against

Repaint it white & red and it would look like something from Aperture Science.

It looks fun.

vote-for5vote-against

I think these are destined for Bags of Crap®.

vote-for4vote-against

This looks like the ping pong tables in Bryant Park across the street from where I work :-) I never saw an iPong there :-(

vote-for4vote-against

@capguncowboy: This is such a great idea! If only they'd pick them up and put them back in the machine.

Other than that, this seems to be intended for a very limited audience.

vote-for5vote-against

@blissful0ne: Just use a shopvac with a long extension tube. That'll even let you get the ones that roll under your couch without as much bending and grunting.

vote-for4vote-against

Re: ball retrieval maybe tape a bedsheet to under the table and then to the ceiling. That should catch everything pretty well.

vote-for4vote-against

I have the higher end model with spin control and all. I recommend that if you're a semi-serious player. This model is about the lowest you should buy to have something reliable to play with. Note that you can only use 40mm balls (the current standard), not older 38mm balls. The Joola IPong 100 ball pack on amazon is very reasonably priced!

vote-for3vote-against

@beautyofmachines: My first glance said baby food mill with cheesy puffs.

vote-for4vote-against

@dazoneranger: You should write a book about ping pong. A SHORTER book.

vote-for3vote-against

@gjbloom: Good, clean fun. The dust bunnies are gonna fuss.

vote-for3vote-against

I wonder how many buyers actually own ping-pong tables.

vote-for4vote-against

@capguncowboy: If only this was attached to a Roomba.

vote-for3vote-against

@codefish and @capguncowboy: Actually, Apple thinks they own APPLES, and any possible depiction of apples. See here for one of a plethora of ludicrous claims...this against a small cafe in Germany:

This is the coolest thing I've never heard of.

@emperorchow: That link is actually for only the side portion of the net. If you scroll down, though, they have the back net for 79.99.
