DO you have to download an installer/loader/player or do you just get the stand alone game? i don't have any recent experience with bigfish

better deal than steam by 41 cents. seems like steams getting outdone lately, especially with portal 2 being cheaper everywhere. better for us though!

@vrthomas: there is a game manager you have to download which shows all your bigfish games in it. when you click the shortcut for your game, it takes you to the game manager, where you press a play button to play the game. the game manager is pretty unintrusive and there aren't any ads or anything on it. I've never had a problem with it.

also, I love this game and am sorely tempted to get it...

But if you buy on steam you get a free hat!1
And as we all know the only reason people buy games on steam is to get hats

It is wayyyy worth the $ .41 to have this game on steam instead of some other crappy launcher/downloader thing. And also, the hats you get if you buy it on steam are going to be worth more then 41 cents anyway.

@qqqqqq582: I can get good hats free anytime at Lowe's, Home Depot, Wingscapes, bait shops, etc., so an el cheapo "free" hat from any game website most likely won't last a month! The first time sweat gets through the hatband it'll discolor. Besides, I like BF Games & their game manager. I like Steam too, but this time my money goes to BigFish!

@misterron: The hats are in-game items for Team Fortress 2, the most popular class-based online multiplayer hat-collection and arena combat game on the planet.

@thesporkwithin: That's funny! I thought they sent a hat to you! Shows how little I know or even care! Heh heh

i was about to go on to steam to find out about these hats. ohh poo. but steam is amazing, i love it, and all my real gamer friends help save me when i die in multi-player.

I've downloaded Big Fish games in the past and had no issue with the Game Manager. However, the last two games offered on Woot (one sponsored and this one), I've encountered problems installing the game (downloads just fine). Last time I had to re-download it and install before it worked however that isn't working with Plants vs Zombies and I REALLY want to play it. Keep getting a 703 error and that Big Fish may be having technical difficulty (or my internet isn't working was the other reason - and I'm pretty darn certain - with me being online and all - my internet IS working :P ).

Is there different stuff in this edition than in the regular one? I have this game through Big Fish, but AFAIK it's the regular edition. I have played it to death and wish they'd make a sequel. I can't find any other game I enjoy half as much.

@moondrake: I've played the GotY edition a bit and so far, I can confirm there are new achievements you can obtain, plus you can create your own zombie that carries the flag during the final wave in each level.
