Save 75% on L.A. Noire on Steam ($5 reg. version, $7.50 complete)
Amid the post-war boom of Hollywood's Golden Age, Cole Phelps is an LAPD detective thrown headfirst into a city drowning in its own success. Corruption is rampant, the drug trade is exploding, and murder rates are at an all-time high.
$5 gets you the core game, no DLC
$7.50 gets you the core game, plus all DLC
This game was surprisingly good. Once you get near the 3/4 mark, the extra car chases and traffic stop missions get to be a bore. Other than that - a very entertaining game.
In the past I had been warned about the PC version of L.A. Noire in particular. Have there been patches to improve the playability of this version of the game?
A patch from Nov. 18 2012 fixed:
"Windows 8 compatibility issues, and minor bug fixes."
Not sure if that addresses your concern, but there was a patch post-release.
Avoid LA Noire on the PC. Has major issues with framerate that nothing can fix. Not even the top of the line graphics card runs it well. It is a poor port to PC. It makes it unplayable.
