Very Nice. Unfortunately I don't have a phone that supports apps. :(

For all the Android users out there, you can use WootWatcher. It uses push notifications so you're notified when a new item comes up while still enabling you to use your phone without a dead battery for longer than 11 minutes and 37 seconds. https://market.android.com/details?id=com.drclabs.android.wootchecker&hl=en

vote-for3vote-against

I'm trying it out... I use the WootWatch app daily, but it hasn't been updated in a while.

vote-for2vote-against

Yay for free things! Thank you.

vote-for10vote-against

@dkalthoff: I use WootWatcher and I 100% agree it's the best on the android market

Their Serbs must be bogged down. When I run it, I just get a white screen.

vote-for1vote-against

@subrec: Hey what version of iOS are you on? Our server looks healthy from here. If you continue to have issues try terminating the app and restarting it. If you still have problems send an email to support@trackwoot.com and I can help you debug it!

vote-for4vote-against

@subrec...I wasn't aware there were Serbs running the show. I think mine has Albanians.

vote-for1vote-against

I downloaded for my iPad and started it up. All I get is a white screen. Does this thing work at all?

vote-for1vote-against

@bigreddogatl: Can you give me a screenshot and info about your version of iOS? We're rebooting the server right now but the app should be fine!

vote-for2vote-against

Nice clean app. Loaded fine on my Verizon 4s. I just wish Home.Woot! was listed.

vote-for2vote-against

@coondogg97: Home Woot is there! It's on the right side, we couldn't quite fit it so you just have to scroll the icons. :)

vote-for1vote-against

@coondogg97: Also from the settings screen you can rearrange the icons if you find that you like Home Woot the most or even if you just want to make the top three icons the current WootOff sites (that's what I do)

vote-for1vote-against

@njkrut: IOS version on the iPad is 5.0.1 (9A405) and as I said the screen gives a very brief flash of content when the program starts up but then goes to solid white with nothing else.

vote-for2vote-against

@njkrut: I just tried it again. Same thing until I turned the iPad from landscape to portrait orientation. Then in portrait the page displayed. But when I went back to landscape, it then only would display the product photo, not the rest of the page.

IMHO, if you are going to have an app listed as an iPad app, like this one was, it should work in both portrait and landscape orientations. This one doesn't and to me that is a big failure. Good thing I didn't spend money for it or I would be pissed.

vote-for1vote-against

@bigreddogatl: Ok. I'm going to do some testing on an iPad might be something different in 5.0.1 so I'm updating. I'll get back to you will you send an email to support@trackwoot.com really quick so I can correspond with you there?

vote-for1vote-against

@njkrut: Well played sir....well played.

EDIT: From the little bit I have poked around so far I like this app better then WootWatch which I have been using. I only really use a Woot app for WootOffs, so this is perfect.

vote-for2vote-against

Requires iOS 4.3, which my iPod Touch can't run. Apparently. Boo :(

vote-for1vote-against

I've been using wootstar for the iPhone. Just came out a couple weeks ago, but works pretty well and very well designed.

vote-for1vote-against

@aphroat: We're working on making a version available for older versions! Hopefully version 2.0 we'll have available back to 3.x

vote-for1vote-against

Already bought it last week. Should have waited...

vote-for1vote-against

@bigreddogatl: A note to all iPad users. This app has a bug on the iPad when you start the app in landscape mode and have lock rotation on it seems like there is no app, just a white screen. If you turn off lock rotation it works just fine. There is no landscape version of the app right now and rotating the device to portrait mode shows an image of the currently selected item!

iPad Users Please Note: We will be releasing a version specifically for you soon. We promise it'll be beautiful!

@hcsencsi: Well we appreciate your patronage anyway! :)

vote-for2vote-against

@kllangellier: if you get unlimited texting, you can set up twitter to text you with woots (:

I'll get it and compare to woot star and see which one is better (since they are both free today).

Which one do you like?

vote-for-2vote-against

It does not show the "homewoot"... whats up with that?

vote-for2vote-against

@dnschrader: It does. It's kind of hard to find, the icons on the right are actually a slider. If you just slide it up home.woot is at the bottom. You can rearrange them from settings.

vote-for1vote-against

@k87: I love you right now! :D I shall go do that, haha.

vote-for2vote-against

-1 because I thought Apps that are only available on a single platform were a thing of the past

vote-for2vote-against

@tiedyejeremy: Nope, it's still the norm. For instance Instagram is iOS only. That's a real loss for them.

Imagine if every company purposely rejected more than 50% of a potential market? It's like Woot only taking MasterCard.

vote-for1vote-against

@njkrut: Thanks for acknowledging that there is a problem. I didn't have my iPad in rotation lock, but I did start the app up while in landscape orientation. My iPad's case is designed to hold the iPad standing in landscape orientation only and it is how my iPad spends 95% of the time. Most true iPad apps run better in landscape. So until you get your app working properly in landscape, I won't be using it.

vote-for2vote-against

@tiedyejeremy: it is multi-platform, it works on the iPad and iPod Touch as well as the iPhone...that's at least 3 platforms

/sarcasm

vote-for2vote-against

Thank You for the free app

vote-for1vote-against

@bigreddogatl: Totally understandable. We'll be pushing an update for iPad and a version for Android sometime in March (we don't want to develop a version just to have it not work on the new screen on the new iPad coming out in March) so we'll keep you posted. The iPad gives us a TON more screen real estate as well to expect a lot more cool features. :)

We REALLY need to release the Android version apparently since we've received well over 100 emails asking to be updated when it comes out.

WE HEAR YOU! It's coming... Including some other awesome features such as better Shirt.Woot integration, MooFi as well as the only Woot iPhone app to our knowledge that will allow you to search & browse Deals.Woot (it will be similar to the Archive Tab).

vote-for2vote-against

Boo, not backwards compatible. Next version, hopefully.

vote-for1vote-against

@njkrut: Thanks for thinking it through. 1000x better to release it right than release it soon. I did sign up for notification and will PAY for it.

::hopes it covers everything from home. to moofi.::

vote-for1vote-against

@njkrut:
I often speak in sarcastic circles and sometimes come across as an insensitive clod on teh interwebs, but you really do need to stop thinking "iPhone app" and start thinking "uber profitable and useful and well received app for everyone"

You know what sucks!!!! I have a iphone 3G I have had sence they first came out,but to get you to buy a 4G,alot of app's only work on 4G phones, like this one, well for me they can kiss you know what!!my phone works find, and I am not about to go out and buy a 4G and have to sign up for a two year contract again,at lease not anytime soon. That my 2 cents.

vote-for3vote-against

@tiedyejeremy: Ha ha ha. Thanks for the correction. We're really excited about how well this app has been received because we've put a ton of time into it (not just the development but thinking what Wooters really want out of an app). Trackwoot started as my pet project in 2008 and now in 2012 we can make it so much more powerful!

I think my slip was just that I've always owned and developed for iPhones. Not because I have anything against Android, I've just been suckered in. I purchased an Android phone (Nexus S) this week and will be doing some serious Alpha testing in the coming week or two(so far it's just been on a simulator). We definitely intend for this app to be extremely useful and I look forward to Wooter's opinions! :)

vote-for2vote-against

@rshaklee: If you need some testers for the Android app I'm sure you know where to find some... HINT(here)

vote-for2vote-against

I love this app already after a few hours of use. But it seems that the woot off progress bar is behind the real website and other apps. My only problem and just a little nitpick since it still sends a notification promptly for a new item. Thanks for replacing woot watch and wootstar.
