Holly crap its like they're cleaning out everything from the early 2000's.

vote-for14vote-against

all 11,402 items in Amazon's electronics section? You call this a deal? We all know how to search amazon, how about going through those 11,402 items and seeing if there's actually something worth (posting) buying in there.

vote-for3vote-against

@diputsur: Amazon's electronic section is quite a bit larger than 11,402 items. This link is to the 11,402 items in electronics that are discounted. Still seems like a good question though as to what's worth while.

vote-for10vote-against

@diputsur: The number is the quantity of items in the 90% or more off the retail price area. There are FAR more items (2,373,114 to be exact) than that in the entire electronics area at Amazon.

@pyromosh: What's worth while is a matter of opinion. What's worth the time and money for me probably isn't worth the time or money for you or someone else.

The selection can be narrowed down using the different filtering options on the right-side of the screen, just like any other search or department on Amazon. It will narrow down only the items in the 90% Electronics area, so you should be able to browse only those types or brands of items that you would be interested in...

vote-for6vote-against

i realize, I'm lazy... (see? Too lazy to backspace to correct the first letter here!) copy and pasted your text and didn't grab enough obv. My point (obv missed) being, anyone can search on amazon. You limitting to 11k+ results isn't a deal - it's a clusterfk! If you find something worthwhile (a deal!) in there post it, but this is silly.

vote-for2vote-against

@femaster: by the way, how can I narrow the results so I only see items 90% off or more? =) (did you actually click on any of the items that sell for more than $10?)

vote-for3vote-against

I don't get it. Garmin nuvi 260W for $119.99 (down from $229.99). Either this is ~48% off (rather than promissed 90%) or I learned my math the wrong way... Other deals seem wrong as well.

vote-for4vote-against

This stuff is garbage a 4 mega pixel camera for 80 bucks!!! Yeah I guess it's 90% off from the prices 8 years ago.

vote-for2vote-against

Nice, but it's a virtual junkyard in there!

vote-for3vote-against

I think the 90% only applies to a few items out of the thousands suggested. Most seem to have maybe 10% - 15% off normal pricing.

vote-for3vote-against

Considering all the recent blog entries dissing "Mystery Box" boc's, why not just buy this stuff from Amazon, then put it in boxes, and see if you can make your fortune selling the boxes for $1 or $5 or $10 (plus shipping, of course)?

vote-for2vote-against

@walmark: Apparently they take into consideration the used items as well. It is $89.85. Not sure how that equivalates out to 90% either, but I'm not Amazon, I didn't program their site. All items are suposed to be 90% or more off. If they are not then something in Amazon's filtering is screwed up, which has nothing to do with me.

$9.26 + $6.44 for a 256MB flash drive....

ARE THEY FREAKING NUTS?!

vote-for3vote-against

@stuntdriver: Yes, it is a bit of a junkyard. You have to figure, at such a steep discount, there is bound to be some old junk mixed in.

Our ancestors didn't just magically find gold in the streams out west, they actually had to pan through tons of rock and crap before they found their ultimate goal. Society today is just too damn lazy, everybody needs to be spoon fed apparently.

vote-for1vote-against

@pathogen: Don't talk that way about Holly!

vote-for3vote-against

Actually, you can search every Amazon category by %age off. Here's the best quick list of 90% off per category I've found:

http://www.kalyansuman.com/2007/09/amazon-toys-clearance.html

Note that the apparel link is incorrect there. Here's the fixed one:

Amazon's filters have always been glitchy. Sometimes I think it's taking into account used items selling by private sellers, but even then, the math doesn't always work out. I've also never had a search where I filter by free super saver shipping only show free shipping listings. It usually ends up that at least 1/3 of the listings don't have that.

In fact, their results for the filters are so bad so often, that I wonder if there aren't other factors that they program into the results (like your search history, item views, etc) to increase sales. Kind of like the impulse racks in every store: We know you didn't come in to buy this, but take a look at it anyway.

vote-for3vote-against

I found a couple of good things in here. For one, my girlfriend needed a screen protector / skin bundle for her MP3 player, and I found a few darn cheap ones here. Also, anyone need a MicroSD card for your cell phone? They have an 8GB one for just over $10. So, there are at least a handful of good deals. You just gotta know what you wanna look for.

Curious George books are the best electronics ever! http://tinyurl.com/2bhhvqq

Try to filter more...

Filter by free super saver, 4star or better review, and <$25
this now returns a more useful subset of items.

@pleepleus: A Betamax to HD-DVD converter? There's something very wrong about that. What's next, an 8-Track to LP converter?

vote-for2vote-against

http://www.monoprice.com about the same deals and similar price all the time.

vote-for2vote-against

@bippythebeardless: I did apply the filters you suggested. And I still got this as one of my results:
http://tinyurl.com/2gxs4rl

vote-for2vote-against

After 20 pages of Bippy's suggested filtering, I still only found about 1 in 30 of the items listed was actually at a 90% discount (according to Amazon), and of those, most of them were "meh" to me. YMMV, of course, but I was not impressed.

vote-for1vote-against

@bongosolo: Then apparently you did something wrong, because that is NOT under $25...

vote-for1vote-against

@shadowdragoonftw: troll fail. lolololol read teh thread :p

@erichss: If I could only find the soundtrack on 8-track...

vote-for2vote-against

Why limit this "deal" to electronics? I found tons of awesome stuff here! http://www.amazon.com/

vote-for1vote-against

@jamesb2147: You be trollin'. I did read the thread, and my reply was completely appropriate. bippythebeardless included <$25 as one of his filters suggested, and the item bogosolo linked is way more than that, so, my statement holds true to the thread.

I wonder if this means $118 for 20 1.5TB hard drives, or if that's just a typo:

http://tinyurl.com/2f4ew2t

The list price and shipping weight look like a listing for a bulk 20-pack, but I highly doubt they would send you 20 hard drives. Although who knows...

vote-for1vote-against

Yeah, I bet if I put some of this junk in a box and called it a "mystery crap," half of you suckers would buy it for $25 bucks plus shipping.

vote-for1vote-against

@k1avg: Look at the retail price. Looks like they're trying to drop a ton of stock. I'd e-mail them about it. This could be useful to me...

vote-for2vote-against

@k1avg: I would e-mail them directly about it (for that matter, I might do that anyway because that deal would be insane). But I would guess that the seller listed their item in the wrong place. I sell on Amazon and some listings require quite a bit of work to make sure you have the exact item you are selling.

vote-for2vote-against

I'm sure he messed up his listing now. The guy has the same hard drive listed at the same price (only for a single one).

vote-for2vote-against

http://tinyurl.com/2cgmshy

This is great. A potty and me. Perfect filtering, it belongs with that crap.

vote-for2vote-against

I dunno. The shipping weight on it was 35lbs., which is just about the right weight for 20 harddrives. A single one isn't going to weigh nearly that much. I gave it a shot. If nothing else, I have a 1.5TB harddrive for a decent-ish price. Best case scenario? Harddrives for life.

I'm loving the price for this HC card but it says bulk package. They're not specific enough. Does that mean I'll be getting more than one? :/

vote-for2vote-against

@shadowdragoonftw: All of the information on the listing will be correct for a pack of 20 because of the way Amazon has sellers add their item to sell to the listing.

vote-for1vote-against

@vampiregrin: No, bulk package in this case just means that the SD card is not individually packaged in retail packaging. So they will likely be selling you just one in a plastic baggie or clamshell.

The 20 hard drive deal, the listing says pack of 20 ... but I'm guessing it's a typo. I emailed them to ask ...

vote-for1vote-against

I got a few things, shipping wasn't bad, thanks for this one!

vote-for1vote-against

I got a MIDI to USB cable that my wife can use to connect our digital pianos to our netbooks. Thanks for the link.

vote-for0vote-against

with all these items on sale, amazon should follow some companies on here and do mysteries boxes...haha..

vote-for1vote-against

On the 20-pack of hard drives - you should probably cancel the order. I ordered one pretty much knowing it was in error, but said what the hell. Now the link takes you to a more appropriately priced set of hard drives by a different seller, and as someone mentioned above, Electronica Direct, the previous seller (a) sells 1 hard drive for $148, and (b) does not sell this particular model in 20-packs (although it does sell others).

vote-for2vote-against

@earlycuyler: I took a screenshot of the page. Either they'll cancel the orders and refund money, or honor their sale. I don't think they're going to risk their high reputation on this by sending 1 harddrive.

vote-for2vote-against

You have got to be kidding me!
12' HDMI Cable = .44¢
F/F HDMI Coupler = .01¢

I figured 4 cables and 10 coupler.
$1.86.
Shipping = $54.97

WHAT?! GTFOOH! Total = $56.83.
Uhh.. NO. CANCEL!

vote-for1vote-against

@sirlouie: That converter is worthless, but you can't beat the price! Excellent deal! ;-)
