I have the 7.0 Plus and I really like it. As pataba stated, if you want anything larger then go with the iPad. Android is just not up to the same standards as iOS. The 7.0 Plus is great for me, though. iOS on it would make it perfect!

I bought a refurb unit from ebay a few days ago. It came looking brand new and it functions wonderfully. I don't know if these are guaranteed manufacturer refurbished units, but mine came in a sealed box so I know it was. If the difference is $25, personally, I would go with the 7.0 plus as it has more power and a few other accouterments that make it nice. The tab 72 (yes I said 72, having a name with two consecutive numbers isn't a good idea IMO) has ICS, which is the major selling point right now, but the 7 plus may also get that sometime soon as well.

I have the original Galaxy Tab and I love it. If you want a full sized tablet buy an iPad, no Android 10 inch can compare. But the 7 inch is easier to hold, input in portrait is so much smother and easier to use on the go. Google play sucks for larger tablets, but apps for 2.2 stretch much less awkwardly on a smaller tablets, while apps for larger tablets are still very usable.

Just don't buy this one!

@lnew: Depends on if someone wants the portability of the 7" versus the 10.1".

Personally I am holding out for the Asus quad core rumored to be comming out soon in the same size and price point.

The Samsung Galaxy 10 inch tablet is available for $299. Wouldn't that be a better deal?

What's the consensus on purchasing tablets refurbished? The price is right, but I worry about the quality of the item received.

Always with the "just wait the next one is always coming ". It's technology its always outdated the day after you buy it.

If woot had been around interest early 80's I have a feeling the comments would have been don't buy this Pong game Pac-man will be out in 3 months..... 3 months later, are you going to buy Pac-man when you know Ms PAC -man will be out this spring.... And on and on...

Engadget has a nice review of the Galaxy Tab 2 comparing it to this one. If you're trying to decide between the two, it's worth a read:

@joeymalcomb: Excellent information for a prospective buyer!! I was considering this for my son. I'll wait, it wasn't anything urgent anyway. Thank you!

The second generation of this tablet will come out on the 28th of april for $250, be that as it may it is also a slightly weaker tablet than this one. The newer one will have a slower processor, weaker cameras, and less memory. Which is why it will be considerably cheaper then this one.

No! Don't do it! Samsung just announced the Galaxy Tab 2 7.0. It will be $250 and coming out April 22nd. You can wait until then, right?
