BF3 on PC is like this: graphics-absolutely fantastic, although the game is as demanding and even more demanding to run than Crysis 2. The game has no menu so even if you just want to get to the Campaign, you need to go through their web-based battlelog just to launch, which requires an internet connection. That's my biggest gripe for this version, versus the console version. Obviously the console versions don't have these problems at all.

this game is ruining my life. i don't eat, or sleep, i don't pay my bills, and i think my wife left me a week ago. but i just unlocked heat seakers for the planes so it's all worth it...

waiting on my code to be e-mailed...will 1+ when I get it :-)

I love the game when it is working, Origin and Battlelog (on your internet browser) are both required. I've had some issues with crashing between games, but there is a patch coming out tomorrow that is supposed to fix a lot of crash issues, as well as a lot of balance tweaks.

If the patch fixes the problems that it is supposed to, my only gripe with this game is Origin and Battlelog. I don't know why they couldn't have included a server-browser and the single-player campaign in game as opposed to requiring you to go through the website. (Ok, I know why, it is an anti-piracy measure by DICE/EA but it is inconvenient, annoying, and having both extra programs at once take some resources away from the game)

Personally, Origin hasn't been a problem. Battlelog is also fine. People having gripes about internet connection is ridiculous. PC nowadays are always connected to the internet anyway, unlike consoles.

PC version also allows for 64 players gameplay while the consoles do not (This also limits the ground space a player can go to in the console version of the game). Graphically its better then the console versions as well (if you have a good setup).

@emperorchow: <<<< implying that the XBox 360 and PS3 AREN'T always connected to the internet... O_o

I do miss PC gaming, it is without a doubt better than console gaming, but I don't miss having to upgrade my PC before I purchase each game.

i try to limit my playing time to when the wifey is sleeping. coming from BF2 on PC, I am amazingly impressed with the quality and gameplay they put on the console version. BF2 on xbox (while it was fun to play) paled in comparison to the PC version. Good to see that they are starting to come to a common quality and ground while each delivering slight advantages for each. Back to Karkand expansion out in a few days, bring on the VTOL F-22 and fork lift driving! W00t!

@tayl428: Just build 1 good rig and you're good for a few years.

@gudsine: Can you really drive fork lifts? And what's are the release dates?

@kenmasters: <<<< implying that some people have unreliable internet, or are out of town in a place that doesn't have internet, on a flight, in a car, in a hotel. That applies to PC, PS3, and Xbox users alike.

@emperorchow: My complaint had less to do with the internet connection than it did that I can't access single player or a server browser without using an internet browser. I would much rather have both of those functions in-game.

so i know the new kirkland maps are old re-done maps from BF2, but will htey have the new vehicles and stuff?

vote-for1vote-against

@ndcouch: It's Karkand, and as I understand it, the maps already on BF3 will not get the vehicles, but I'm sure the weapons will work on any map.

I've never heard of Global Gamestop and they don't really have an About Us section or much info about the company on the website other than the privacy policy. Has anyone ordered from them yet?

I'm trying to find my consumer confidence in the site but it only gives me a privacy policy and a generic SSL certificate...Are they safe to order from?

It worked! Ranked up 3 times so far. Coming from the XBOX 360 to my Native interface (PC) I'm so much better it's stupid.

@mrtheshadow: my bad. dunno why i thought there was a "i". I understand the existing bf3 maps wont change, but we'll be getting bf2 maps correct? will the new vehicles be available in those maps? bf3 introduced new ground vehicles, as well as planes, and i'm wondering if i can play some of my favorite old bf2 maps with the new fun toys (the attack helicopters and planes are ridiculously fun)

Legit and upstanding company. Bought from them a few hours a go, but got an email that stated they ran out of BF3 but will be getting more by tonight. Ask them if they can refund my money since i'm...well...impatient and wanted a digital download now...and it was back in my account in less than 2 minutes (paid via paypal). Was enough to instill confidence in me. Will buy from them again (next time i'm not so impatient =).
