Because they’re not as easy to smuggle out of the hotel as those little soaps.
Wow without the coupon code, those are some expensive pillows. With it, at least the price is back around this stratosphere. $20 for each queen and $25 for each king size pillow.
It seems like they're cheaper on amazon. 2 of any size for $39.99 + free shipping

@joiny, funny because that seller on Amazon is no other than pacific pillows, the same as this "deal". So they just inflated the non coupon code price for us to make it look like this is some great deal?
That's despicable.
Actually they are NOT that hard to steal from a hotel. Just take a compression stuff sack with you. You'll be able to get a pillow to fit in a dopp kit.
Q. How do you get down from a horse?
A. You don't. You get down from a goose.
With previous down pillows I've bought I've always had a problem with the feathers poking out of the fabric and escaping the pillow after a month or two of use. Can anyone say whether or not that's likely to happen with these?
Woot "deal":

Their normal page for these pillows found by surfing their site:

You will notice that the prices on one is double the price on the other. Please guess which is which.
So I think we can confirm that they just changed the price for us. Aren't we lucky?

Craig from PacificPillows.com again! Hope everyone is enjoying that we made the deal even better for our woot! customers. To reply to a few comments above really quick:
1. These pillow have a down proof shell so you should not have many (if any) feather poking out. You will get feathers poking out when the pillow shell is not down proof or if the percentage of feathers in the pillow is very high (95-98%). Also, this is a dual compartment pillow so the feathers are well contained. And, with the free pillow protector offer as part of this deal you will have both a down proof pillow shell and a pillow protector to prevent any feathers poking through. So, you should get a great night of sleep on these. Enjoy.
2. Somebody above said we change the prices on our website prior to running this deal. This is not true. We have had these same pillows on our website for 2-3 years and the prices have always been within $10-$15. Not sure why somebody thinks we did that! Cheers.
I've ordered Pacific Pillows before and have found they generally make a high quality product and ship it out in plenty of time. That having been said, there's often a big difference between the MSRP and what you can actually buy them for. The Amazon price is very good for a product like this. This deal is slightly better for the regular pillows, and if you value a pillow protector then it's a pretty good deal for the other sizes, too.
Now a quick question: these pillow protectors are just like zip-up cotton pillowcases, right? They're not those horrible waterproof things that people with bedbugs have to use, right?
Craig from Pacific Pillows here. These are the pillow protectors with a zipper on one end. They are 100% cotton typical pillow protectors and are not the bed bug protectors or hospital grade protectors that can make a wrinkling sound when slept on. They pretty much fit the exact form of the pillow and are designed to go over the pillow but inside of a pillowcase. Thanks for the good question and comments.
i dislike these pillows you go right through them and they become flat :(
craig from pacific pillows, nice damage control, but if the price is twice what the amazon price is, with you as the seller on both, then i'm going to call bull(profanity). downvote. you got caught.
Yes, inflating prices to offset "discounts" is pretty foul. I haven't done the price comparison personally but IF it's true Craig, not cool.
@phillystyle: Didn't you mean "fowl"?
@pacificpillows: Are you really, really sure you want to stick with your claim that you have a) had these pillows on your site for the last 2-3 years and b) they have always been within $10-$15 in price?
Because Craig - there is this amazing thing called the Internet Archive... aka "the wayback machine." And it is not telling the same story.
This one, for example is from January and that is selling the same set of 2 kings for $129 - no sale price indicated - just a "list price" and "our price." So basically, you bumped it up to the "list price" and then tell us we're getting a deal.
Btw - why no info on a) down fill power or b) percentage of down/feather?
I particularly like this one - it was $244.99 in every previous capture, and the captures date back to January 2010.
It's $289 today.
Craig, a pro-tip: Woot is heavily populated by very geeky people who actually know how the internet works and how to work it to their advantage.
@jsimsace: Ha! It took every fiber in my being not to...but I almost did.
