I emailed Staples last night, and this morning received a email saying that my order was being processed (their website warned that orders go directly to warehouse) So I called them, waited maybe 5 minutes before I got helped. I explained the situation (and how I think the deal went of EST and the website just didn't show it) after maybe another 5 minutes she refunded me $10 (or said she would, I haven't had it show up yet)
Probably the best customer support I have used.

And, while reading their website there are 2 ways to return an order (If it's to late to cancel it) You can either refuse delivery or return it in a physical store. I would try calling first though. (1-800-333-3330) you need your order number ready to give.

@emmnemms: Thanks for the follow-up. I got mine adjusted as well, though not as smoothly. The first time I called, the original rep transferred me through to a male customer service rep who barely spoke English, seemed not to care, and then ended putting me on hold for eight minutes and counting (when I finally hung up).

I called back and talked to Cynthia, and she was the exact opposite: cheerful, concerned, understanding, professional. She refunded $20 (4x$5.00 since I ordered 4 packs), and even offered to send me a confirmation e-mail, which she did and I have received.

Moral of the story, they will adjust your total, just don't be afraid to hang up on a bad rep if you get one and call back. There are very good reps there, too.

Got an email from them saying they were refunding the difference ($10.60) here as well.

Went from being rather peeved at Staples to quite satisfied. If only we saw actual customer service more often.

I had ordered a pack of fine and ultra fines. Just a couple of minutes ago I got an email saying that the ultra fines were not available for purchase and that I will not be charged for them on my order.

I presume this means I'll have the fine pack still shipped to me, but we'll see.

I just got an email that they cancelled my order even though I ordered when the deal was still live. Apparently they ran out of stock or something so they just cancelled. I don't know why they couldn't just backorder it and send it to me when they received more.

Did anyone else get cancelled?

Both of my orders were cancelled also...as "not available." I ordered early when they were available. And received confirmations. What's VERY irritating is they are available. The price is $10.49.

Don't sell them to me, confirm that I've placed the orders, then tell me they're not available when you have them in stock. You just won't honor the price you sold them for! Bad public relations Staples. Sitting here sucking on sour grapes. As if that will help. :-\

I ordered 2 packs, got the conformation, then the cancellation. My card was never charged, but Staples did see fit to give me 2 $5 credits on my card (I never never called to ask for an adjustment) which was nice of them. We'll see how long until I get another email telling me they are taking their $10 back.

@cfalgas: Wow. Nice. I saw your comment in my e-mail, checked my bank account. Got $20 back from Staples in mine (equals the amount of discounts from the old $8.00 price multiplied by the four packs I ordered, 4x$5). Yep, I'm pretty sure that will disappear somehow, seeing as I was never charged for them. But I'm hoping not. It would be nice to get paid for the time I wasted talking with customer service.

Some time earlier on this thread I said that Staples' cancellation of orders was very bad PR - or words to that effect. They just regained credibility and respect from me. I, too, received an em stating they were unable to fulfill the orders, but was issuing a $5 credit for each order of fine-lines. EXCELLENT customer service & PR!!

I never got an email saying they would credit my card, but I looked this morning at my account (To make sure they didn't charge it) and sure enough, $10 credit... Kind of wish I had ordered more :P
