Shark S3101 Electric Steam Mop (Heats Up in 30 Seconds) for $29.99 + shipping
We hear “Electric Steam” is the next Chromeo single! Oh, and a mop is pretty cool too, probably.
consensus seems to be that the handles on these are too flimsy and the they barely get hot enough. For $30, though, not a bad deal
Does mop com with two pads ? Shown in picture but not listed under what you get. Be careful!
I bought one for Christmas totally useless. the pads get dirty too quick then u have to stop to clean it off or continue mopping with a dirty mop and that's just nasty. a disposable pad would be better
I like mine! Bought 6 more pads. I can do the whole house and wash then reuse them. Heats quickly and is easy to use. Floor is dry almost immediately.
After the initial investment it ends up being quite a bit cheaper than the Swifter Wet Jet and does a better job.
Consensus here seems to be that buyers entering into purchases with Ice Monkey do so at their own risk:
I have one of these mops and absolutely love it. My floors have never felt cleaner. I like the fact that you do not have to use any type of cleaners on it. I've seen comments about it being flimsy, but I haven't had any issues with it at all.
We have this steam mop, bought it on Black Friday for about the same price. Ours came with extra pads. The water reservoir could have been a little bigger but other than that they work great. Don't know about this seller but i can say the mop is worth every penny.
I've had mine for over two years and can do the whole house with about 4 pads. If the pads are dirty, then that is the point. Mine heats up fine.
Amazon has some great reviews. This is a good price, but it seems to not work that great...
Ours seems to just push the dirt and grime around. Definitely not a mop replacement.
What do the instructions say regarding sanitizing a floor with these? I bought a similar product made by Eureka, and the instructions said that for sanitizing, the mop head had to be head in place for 10 seconds, meaning you can't actually actively mop and have you floor sanitized. You've got to hold it on one spot for 10 seconds, then move it a few inches and repeat, which would take forever, if you want to sanitize a whole floor.
I have a couple different models of steam mops. The pads do get dirty fast, but like someone said, that is the point!
Even with a slightly dirty pad it still picks up more dirt. It's really not disgusting, the dirt on the pad has been superheated and sanitized by the steam, so as long as it keeps trapping dirt I keep using it.
I like the fact you can wash the pads, saves money in the long run. You're gonna want a bunch of extra pads though, and those are not cheap initially.
IMHO it is ALOT better than regular mopping. Faster, cleaner, no chemicals and does as good if not better. My kitchen floor is really rough texture and a regular mop won't do even close to the job that the steam mop does in 1/3 the time - without dealing with a disgusting bucket of water at the end.
I love mine! Great price. It really does pick up the dirt with no chemicals and no disposable pads in the landfills!
