Nice picture! Lol, woot, you have such a good sense of humor!

I work at a certain office supply store that will not be named, and when we sold the L775 laptops, we had about half of them returned due to internal battery failure, most notably the time kept getting pushed back slowly. I would not recommend this thing. The specs look awesome, but it seems like it's prone to failure.

usually there's a credit link for the source of the display pic. no linkback to Tanga? lol

But it's not a MacBook!

@mjarndt: Could the refurb have fixed any of those issues?

vote-for3vote-against

@mjarndt: Most likely (one of) the reason(s) for the refurbs. Hopefully they corrected the problems...

@captainsuperdawg: You beat me to it. That's why there are so many refurbs. If the battery was the issue, I'm sure they came up with a fix and then had a bunch of refurbs on their hands.

What I like about refurbs is that they typically get a more thorough examination than the original product.

Does the HDMI port support HDCP and does it carry audio in addition to video or do I need a separate audio connection to my TV? I've had one laptop that did support audio over HDMI and one that didn't, that's why I'm asking.

@captainsuperdawg: Possibly, but in my opinion, that is probably the reason Woot is selling a bunch of refurbs.

Does it come with Genuine Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit)?

Will this work with my Mac?

vote-for2vote-against

@mjarndt: Isn't that a good thing though if it was fixed? Laptop has issue, issue gets resolved, resold for cheap price!

I myself am waiting for the perfect laptop, I need a better one but don't want to spend a ton of money unless it's amazing. This one has everything I want except the gpu... I wouldn't be playing a ton of games on it, but the ability would be nice.

In OTHER news, is this a quad core or a dual core? The writeup says quad, the specs says dual.

@tsfisch: I would hope so. There was actually a running joke whenever a manager was called to get this laptop out, I think the quote was, "What? The 17 inch Toshiba? What, do you not like this customer?"

I have been looking at this one. It has blu ray,the i7, and it's new with Costco's warranty but $250 more. Interested in your thoughts when comparing it to the Moofi's offering.

Intel integrated graphics not really good enough, frankly :(

@mjarndt: can you not replace the CMOS battery?

the Tanga marquee erase board is still for sale.

Just bought a new Toshiba but didn't pay extra for the speakers. BIG mistake. Wish I had. I'd get this if I hadn't gotten a new one. Paid the same price and got a lot less. :/ Only thing I haved an issue with is shiny keys. Hate Toshiba's shiny keys and they think it's a special feature! Ugh.

I had a Toshiba Satellite, and it spent more time getting repaired for hardware issues than I actually spent using it.

Run, don't walk, away from this computer.

Ok this is a DEAL?? Maybe I am just not needing all the gingerbread it offers. Best Buy was offering a baseline Toshiba Satalite for 300.00 I bought one last year and it has worked for me really well

I just dont see all the need for the stuff and upgrades on this I guess or I am just to cheap LOL (which is why I am on woot!)

Could all the Lovely People here who geek speak tell me why this would be a DEAL and speak in terms that I would understand LOL Thank You

@unif2: thank goodness for that, every things better with LINUX

I also happen to work at a store that has been selling this item for about 6 months. We've already sent the floor model back twice because it has just died randomly. Also plenty of returns from people who bought it; same issue. I refuse to sell it to anyone lol

I bought an i5 Satellite a little over a year ago and have not had great luck with it; two HD's in one year (the second died four days after the warranty expired /), Harman Karon speakers but no volume, mediocre screen, chicklet keyboard is a little funky. What I do like is the number pad, backlit keyboard, okay touchpad, eco mode. Be sure to get an extended warranty for two years (I wish I had).
