The complimentary one-year PC World subscription is sponsored by Vistaprint. PC World subscriptions will be sent to the first 3,000 qualifying respondents. You will be notified in 2-4 weeks if you are not one of the first 3,000 respondents.

How about after you give all the above information you're NOT one of the 3,000?

Not for me!

this is blatant info-phishing. They are after your id information for spamming purposes. It will be resold and used over and over.

Wow... That's just weird! Thanks for the heads up!

Pretty sure there's been more than 3,000 entries by now, the internet shelf life for something like this tends to be a matter of just an hour or two.

I get PC World and enjoy it. I was a PC Magazine subscriber for many years, until they yanked the print subscription, and decided I had to read it online, without reducing the cost or extending my subscription at all (even though it's far cheaper to make a digital mag rather than printing and mailing physical mags). I then switched to PC World and haven't looked back.

Not even tempted. Not even with a fake email account.

Yeeeah, ohkay, Mercury magazines does not work. Ive tried two different times, With different addresses and I got confirmation emails that I was approved from Mercury, and the magazine in question has never heard of me. Last one I did in october, and I am still waiting for my magazine.

Now it goes without saying its a spy/ad/marketing site, but usually they will honor what they offer. I personally doubt any claims that anyone actually got the magazines they were trying for.

If it says Mercury, dont bother. Hell, Use tanga. They work, and its the next best thing to free getting magazines for 4-5$ per year.

The real trick is to stop getting free magazines. Information Week (for example) has followed me to 3 addresses and I've never filled out the last chance to keep getting it free card.

If any item you're getting for FREE is supported by advertisers, then the item itself isn't the "product"...you are.

I will say that I got the Newsweek subscription from Mercury from its last promotion. I was pretty shocked.

@tsfisch: You don't have to read it online. I read PC Magazine on my Kindle. Costs me $1.50 per month, and unlike PC World, it contains no ads.

@drewpbottom: Newsweek is published on Mercury? The daytime temperature there reaches 800 degrees! How do they keep the magazines from bursting into flame?

PC World subscription out of stock.
