with live now costing sixty by itself if you dont find it on sell, might as well buy this package and get a few extras.

The Gold Membership can be found semi-regularly for $40 (as low as $35 just this week on this site). 400 points is the equivalent of $5. Basically, you have to decide if the chat pad and headset are worth $15.

@rockinjoey: I agree, they need to redesign the chat pad. It is a pain in the butt to put on or take off on the fly. I always end up hit a bunch of buttons I dont mean to hit when putting the chat pad on.

I NEVER take the chat pad off.. why would you take it off on the fly??

@ctbailey You would have to remove the chat pad if you have one of them drop in & charge systems.

I just bought this deal because my subscription runs out this week. The best price for 12 month live is $40. This includes $5 on xbox live, and the black chatpad/headset combo sells in the sealed package on ebay for at least $20, and up to $40 for some reason. That means I end up paying $40 for a live subscription, and the $5 and likely profit from ebay re-selling is free!

I bought a couple of these...the original ones came with a vision camera instead of a chatpad. I got the chatpad too though..

It's definitely worth it, especially if you don't already have PGR4 or any of the other stuff.

The chatpad itself works pretty good, it takes a little getting used to...it changes the ergonomics of the controller, but it's fine once you get used to it - it's great if you have bigger hands too..

Good deal if you need a headset and a chatpad, not so good if you just want the membership and/or points.
