I've got an app for that = "UE SPL" for iOS ... sound leveling for free =)
I'd bet it's not as accurate or robust as the item in this posting, but it's free & works.

@peterflynn: The only reason I wouldn't use the app is because it's not on a calibrated mic and can't handle high SPL. Sound meters have flat frequency response (generally +/-.5dB) over the audible frequency range. The iPhone mic is very small (doesn't handle high sound levels) and is designed primarily for vocal range frequencies (~400-2k). But I'm an engineer that does a decent amount of sound measurements so I set my sights a bit higher.

We use this guy, which I believe was around $4,000...
