So how much bacon do you get with each shipment? $190 for 6 packages better be at least 2 lbs for each shipment...but even then, you're still paying $15 a pound. Not exactly a great deal, considering you can buy from your local butcher for about 2/3 of that price. But clarify anyway...I'm interested.

@dweitzman: Dang it! I can't find the info link!
No, this isn't a screaming I'm-saving-a-wad-of-cash deal so much as it's a deal that might appeal to people who want the opportunity to try something other than the Oscar Mayer, Smithfield, and ordinary bacon one would find at the butcher. The packages run from 10 ounces to one pound.
Cinnamon Sugar, 10 Clove Garlic, Juniper, Jalapeno, and Chipotle Southwest smoked are just some of the more unusual flavors they offer.

It's unusual and different and definitely not for everyone. But for the right folks. it can be a bit adventuresome & fun.
And the price is including shipping.

@lavikinga: I totally understand that; for 30 bucks a pound, it damn well BETTER be better than something I'd find at the butcher, and quite frankly, I resent your implication that bacon I'd find at the butcher would resemble Oscar Mayer quality. Oscar Mayer is thin, bottom of the barrel crap bacon, whereas bacon at the butcher is thick, fresh, very decent bacon. While I very well may not be able to find all these unique flavors of bacon at my local butcher, I do believe that there's a limit to the amount one should spend on bacon. This pricing is outrageous. I guess the type of customer who would buy into this sort of thing is the same type of customer who would spend $100 on a box of 12 chocolates. I certainly don't fall into that demographic.

@dweitzman: You've misunderstood me if you thought I was saying bacon from a butcher was of lesser quality. Far from it. Not every one is lucky enough to have a real butcher close by.

What I meant was the bacon one purchases from the butcher most often will be the normal hickory smoked bacon, unless you are lucky enough to have a butcher that carries applewood smoked, or pepper bacon, etc.

This deal was intended to be something a bit more exotic & out of the ordinary. Nothing more. It's really no more idiotic that the yellow diamond ring set in platinum that came up the other day or the floating iceberg climbing unit.

@lavikinga: :) point taken. I thoroughly enjoyed looking at this deal and drooling over the thought of the unique flavors; I just can't justify the price, is all.

@dweitzman: If you think these prices were bad, google Bacon Clubs znd be prepared to be REALLY taken aback. $300 and up PLUS S/H. This one was a bargain in comparison!
