I picked one up the last time this deal was offered a few weeks ago and the drive works great and the rebate came no worries. Now the deal is back and this time you can buy up to three and get three rebates (the first time it ran it was only one rebate per household).

It has great reviews on NewEgg, but the write speed seems to be very low for SATA III.

@gsvanwinkle: Max sequential read and write is kinda worthless from the point of judging ssd performance random access speed is what important and even most enthusiasts would be hard pressed to notice the difference between one ssd and another. This is an older model from a few years ago but its still reasonably fast and much MUCH better than a hard drive.

The drive is noticeably faster than the 7,200 RPM WD Caviar Black it replaced.

This Pony Optima is the old tired version. Spend the extra $20 at New Egg and get the newer model that blows the doors off my desktop and loads windows 8.1 with virus protector, with system checker in 15 seconds.

Wowza... if I didn't already have a 240 GB SSD I'd be on this.

Writing to SSD's always sucks a bit (they all play games to make it appear to suck less than it actually does), but its always better than the fastest spinning drive.

@thormj: What does this mean? I don't get it- I'm really confused how you got 2 people to up vote that entry.
