Nothing yet?
Anyone got a pair of these?
@rrussell: Okay. I will shortly. WOOOO!
If I were a telemarketer, I would totally rock these at work!
Edit: assuming we made calls via the 'puter
I have a logitech G35 and I am not so happy with USB surround sound. Its okay... My old head set is was a Razer Barracuda 5.1 with actual analog connections and very disappointed that there are very few good head sets that utilize the hardware (sound card or built in audio chip/output).
Amazon reviews mention problems with the microphones, and people exchanging them to get back only slightly better ones. I wouldn't be surprised if there's a, erm, higher incidence of microphone problems among this batch of refurbs. Passing.
Owned for 1yr+. I highly recommend them.
Pros
- Ultra comfortable. They look large and wieldy, but they have never felt heavy or cumbersome even after many hours of consecutive gaming. The padding and around the ear fit are large and smooth. They have not caused me to sweat either.
- Hardware controls. Independent volume for the headset and microphone are right in front of you instead of using software. The volume has a very large range as well. Separate hardware buttons to MUTE the microphone is very convenient.
- The headset produces excellent sound quality once I upgraded the firmware. If the ones being sold here are older stock, keep in mind you will likely have to do the same.
- The 7.1 sound works better than other 7.1 headsets I have tried. It is not as good as a speaker system with separate speakers, but close.
Cons
- 7.1 sound option makes VoIP programs like Ventrilo sound distant and echoy. 2.1 sound makes everything sound normal, but no surround effects.
Would these work with a Ps3 or Xbox360? I see they only have an USB to connect.
Heh, got the last pair. I feel special >:D Hope they are good! I have been entertaining the concept of getting a pair of these for several months and seeing it on on here for a scant $90 pushed me over the edge. Razer products are such a guilty pleasure for me - I admit that the "gaming" aesthetic they go for is a bit silly, but I'm still a total sucker for it.
Received mine..........it works fine, but makes my sessions of BF3 really glitchy.....which was already having problems, (too many to describe)......which is no surprise to anyone who owns the game.
@chalion...when did u order yours? Mine hasnt shipped yet, todays 5days. Whats been the average wait time to receive these? Thanx!
@bluegryffin: I'm on 10 days right now, and still nothing to indicate that it's shipped.
@tsukasadt: Follow-up, got the notification in my e-mail and account today that it shipped. The tracker says it actually shipped 3 days ago, but I just got the notification.
Basically, here's the timeline:
13th - Ordered Headset
22nd - Headset Shipped
25th - Shipment Notification
28th - Estimated Delivery Date
More or less, a half month (15 days) from order to delivery.
@tsukasadt: Well, IMO this thing kicks ass. It should be worth the wait...
(Skyrim)
Yeah about same timeline here..but sent customer service an email and they assured me it would ship by Tuesday and it did :)i got my tracking number in an email today. Hey its s great deal..i cant complain ;)
@rrussell: Well, I've had my eye on his headset for MANY months now, and I've not gotten it for the sole reason of its price. Now that I find it for 90$, I had to jump. I don't think it'll be worth the full price, not to me as I'm more a programmer than a gamer, but I'm certain it'll be well worth the 90$. :)
builds a time machine to get it faster
