It says shipping weight is 2 pounds. That seems a little light for 120 bars.......

vote-for5vote-against

@jsimsace: thats why walmart will be hearing from me when i need to receive the 108 bar remainder :)

vote-for9vote-against

The 120 vs 12 question was asked on their site over a month ago. It remains unanswered. If it was really 120 bars I figure this item would have been pulled by now. Not worth the risk in my book.

vote-for18vote-against

2.4 oz. per bar x 120 bars = 288 oz.
288 oz. = 18 lbs.
Says shipping weight is 2.04 lbs.

With that being said, I would agree with thewidup and say that its not worth the risk.

vote-for-1vote-against

I think the 50$ one is for 120, while the 18 is for 1 pack of 12

vote-for-2vote-against

I think it is 120 bars, but they are mini bars, like a bite and a half, not the full bars that cost more than $1 each.

vote-for2vote-against

Package shipping size is - sure seems like 12 boxes. Agree it seems light on weight. Worse case I'm returning it to Walmart, or getting my missing bars :)

Product in Inches (L x W x H): 23.15 x 11.5 x 9.5

vote-for3vote-against

@jeffreyhasmail:

Bars are advertised as 2.4oz - full size bars.

vote-for3vote-against

In for one. Let's see how this goes.

vote-for-6vote-against

Walmart changed the price to $50.

vote-for5vote-against

The issue I have is that it doesn't contain a battery according to the specifications on the page. No battery, no sale.

vote-for2vote-against

Maybe it was just a one day thing to celebrate "National Peanut Butter Day" on Friday? YUM!

vote-for2vote-against

The 10 count boxes are listed at 2lbs... but the size is completely different. There are 6 packs of 6 count boxes that show as 1.5lbs selling for $50... that is obviously showing the 6 count weight not the 36 count weight, so there is some hope.

vote-for4vote-against

Description on Walmart's site says:

"CLIF Bar Crunchy Peanut Butter Energy Bars, 2.4 oz, 10 count, (Pack of 12)"

So... it could be 12 pkgs of 10 .24 oz bite size pieces.

EDIT: I guess it can't be 10 ,24oz bite size pieces because the site clearly says:
2.4 oz bars, 10 count per box
Pack of 12

vote-for4vote-against

What's the worst that could happen? I'll just return it if it's incorrect.

vote-for6vote-against

In for 1... Man, if this works, we are going to be absolutely sick of these things.

vote-for-10vote-against

the amount is changed on the site to 12. #thanks for the waste of time, though.

vote-for2vote-against

Look at the Product in Inches. 23x11.5x9.5 that is pretty big. Could be real

vote-for3vote-against

It still says 10 count (pack of 12). Don't click on the second link in the post. Click on the title of the post that says the Peanut Butter ones. I don't know if they'll really send out 120 of them (I doubt it), but it's worth a try! =)

vote-for2vote-against

It's only $5 something for 6 bars...so to jump to $18 something for 4 more bars seems like a lot. Jumping up to 120 bars seems like way too good to be true though. =)

vote-for1vote-against

I don't know , even if its 120 bars , the Crunchy Peanut Butter don't taste as good as the chocolate chip or mint chocolate chip bars.

vote-for3vote-against

I'm in for one. After analyzing all previous comments, it seems like it is worth the risk. Worst case I'll just take them back to the store. Plus if the item does not show up as 120 bars, Walmart Q&A about returns indicates they will refund shipping.

vote-for-4vote-against

These bars are horrible, they make Power bars taste like brownies.

vote-for5vote-against

Will these work with my mac?

vote-for2vote-against

The peanut butter ones are just cheaper because 1 the ingredients cost less and 2 they're less popular. They also want to get rid of extra inventory. Also these things do have expiry dates...though for this kind of food its not a danger...it just doesn't taste as good.

vote-for2vote-against

The way I saw it, site describes what one of the items is, which is one ten pack. That is what you are seeing for the weight. The 12 in parentheses tells me I would get 12 of these ten packs. If I'm correct, it is a heck of a deal and I'd better get used to eating Peanut Butter crunch and like it, 'cause I put my order in. It does add $5 shipping. If I am wrong, I'll return it to a store.

vote-for2vote-against

Anyone who purchased this could you please report back when you receive it.

vote-for3vote-against

This is my third or fourth favorite flavor of Clif bars, but if the quantity is accurate it's not a deal I can pass up. The weight in the product description seems to be for one box, but the package dimensions are encouraging.

@schardt12: I certainly will. Estimated delivery is 03/08.

vote-for3vote-against

I might be plainly crazy ... I just bought 3 to bump up amount to get the free shipping. But if my rough calculations are close that five bucks is around 33 free bars. And I'm in this for the most best-est deal I can get (arn't we all if were here?) I thought about buying different items to bump amount up but plainly just didn't feel like cruising aimlessly around walmart's site for their "home free" items. 15 cents-ish each plainly seems way to good to be true - if it is then the whole fam has gots to start liking these a lot. AND hopefully they are not close to expiry. (Or w/360 of these delicious nutritious bars soon to be in my awaiting hands I alone could enjoy One-a-Day for a entire year except on major holidays!) If the order is not the 120 bars as its plainly advertised (even through the checkout and order confirmations) they can plainly just take 'em back. Plainly!

vote-for2vote-against

The last time everyone was dumping the peanut butter flavor cliff bars was after a recall and after said recall costco even stopped carrying the flavor altogether for awhile.

vote-for1vote-against

I'm starting to doubt this even more after looking at the comparison link above "12 boxes of 10 bars for $50". Look @ the box package there are 2 bars in each pouch weighing 1.5oz total. So a single bar in this comparison box weighs in at a measly 0.75oz vs. these bars in the opposite corner of the ring weighing in at a whopping 2.4oz! (ding-ding)

Either Walmart got one hecka-hecka of a closeout deal to sell these so cheap or they going to have a hoard of angry Wooters up in arms with them for false advertising!! My confirmation order, that I hardcopy printed out, shows 120 x 3 of these yummy bars plainly on my way!!

vote-for3vote-against

@bolts

Interesting angle for the cheap price, I found this: http://www.clifbar.com/voluntary-recall/

There is no voluntary recall at this time.

There was a Jan 2009 recall on these (I think this was when there was a BIG peanut butter recall nationwide.) http://www.clifbar.com/press/release/clif_bar_company_announces_voluntary_nationwide_recall_of_clif_and_luna_bra/

vote-for0vote-against

The old saying "if it seems to good to be true it probably is" comes to mind..

http://forums.runnersworld.com/forums/training/triathlons/voluntary-recall-clif-bar-products-containing-peanuts-butter

Some more food for thought...

vote-for2vote-against

@mrobin000: "voluntary" is not the only type of recall

Maybe it's just a play on words but maybe it's not a voluntary and a mandatory recall and therefore not fall into that category.

vote-for3vote-against

Hey guys in terms of recalls, 6 months ago is ages in the past. Food is constantly being produced and Wal-Mart at all stages of distribution checks their inventory for recalled items multiple times of day on an every day basis. If there was a recall you'd have to worry about, you wouldn't know about it yet. The peanut butter recalls last year affected nearly everything peanut butter related, but again, that's long since passed.

vote-for4vote-against

Just saying, I don't think Walmart (or any company for that matter) would sell a product knowing it was under a recall- even if that recall is considered "voluntary", whatever that means- due to liability. If Walmart were knowingly selling Salmonella infected bars to the public, without warning said public, Walmart would be sued. No ifs, ands, or buts. This is America where everyone sues for everything, and in this situation it would be warranted.

TL;DR- Walmart isn't going to sell you something that would give you a good reason to sue them.

vote-for3vote-against

"Temporarily out of stock". Either we wooters have bought them out of their stock on a most excellent deal .... or they realized there was an error in the listing and this is a way to pull it for no more sales. Still listed as 120. Patiently waiting the answer to this ....

vote-for3vote-against

glad I got my 3 in. I've been eating a pack of these everyday for the last 2 months....much cheaper than my grocery store! Thanks guys!!!

vote-for3vote-against

Umm.. I jumped on these shortly after it was posted. I finally got my shipping information from FedEx. I bought two of these and the total weight is a measly 4.1 pounds. I'm not sure if it was my math or what but something seems a bit light to me.

vote-for3vote-against

@bhamutslyr: yeah, I think we're all pretty much getting ready for the inevitable battle with Walmart to get the other nine boxes of our order filled.

vote-for2vote-against

@bhamutslyr: yeah really disappointed to see the 6.4 pounds for my order of 3 ... should be like somewhere over 50lbs. The items are now shown back in stock and still listed the same exact way as the $50 White Chocolate Macadamia ones: 10 count (pack of 12). For what its worth I'm printing both pages out now before something changes!! The invoices also show the 10 X 12 bars plainly stated on them too. Still awaiting my package but I'm thinking a big screw up on Walmart's part, have to see how they honor it (or not)?

vote-for2vote-against

to anybody interested: I got my order today (live in a shipping hub city so basically any "3-5" day order is here in 2 days max); anyways, it's just one box of 12. I haven't brought it up with Wal-Mart yet but plan to do that tonight and see how it turns out...

vote-for2vote-against

@modestvolta: kinda thought that is how the battle would begin. Let us know how you fare against the forces of ineptitude

vote-for2vote-against

Total of only 30 bars received, I have sent a pleasant message to Walmart stating a incorrect amount was received from what was ordered and paid for. I asked if there was an error on their part on processing the order.

http://help.walmart.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/8#OrderAccept - see Pricing and Content Information

"Walmart.com shall have the right, at Walmart.com's sole discretion, to refuse or cancel any orders placed for that item. In the event that an item is mispriced, Walmart.com may, at Walmart.com's discretion, either contact you for instructions or cancel your order and notify you of such cancellation." ..... So as I see it my order has already been processed with a partial shipment of the order received - if they want the items returned for refund if it is due to an error on their part (it is STILL listed the same way!) I am not using my gas & TIME to take & screw around w/ at a store. They can schedule a UPS pickup to get the items the same place they were left at!
