How does this work? I can buy any Overstock item (note exceptions) and not a few selected things? I have been watching some stuff on Overstock so this is a good deal for me.

@bonnyaclyde: Same here. They have a book I want for $15, and it probably would have cost about $20 with shipping. This deal would have been perfect if it applied to books and shipping.

Every time I see what appears to be a good deal from Overstock.com, I end up disappointed because books are excluded in the deal's fine print.

While technically a gift certificate, Overstock will not allow you to use it in conjunction with any other discount offer.
