@markem63: You are aware of the fact that taxes are charged by the government and not by the company; and it is location dependent, right? That doesn't make Microsoft a bad company; it has business in just about every single States.

Since I am in Washington State, taxes would be charged regardless of whether I buy from Amazon.com or Microsoft. Same for a few a few other states where Amazon has direct business registration.

This is hardly "normal price", check DealNews.

And I have used promo code at Microsoft Store many times, never a glitch.

i just got fooled by this order, i would highly recommend against this. Here is why:

Pros.
-Best gift certificate price: $100, (compared to $80 from amazon)(it will come back to haunt you because microsoft charges tax and amazon doesnt)
-free 2 day shipping
-limit 3, amazon only allows 1 per household

now for the cons:

-they charge tax.. so it was $37.50 for tax for two systems. that is basically 20 bucks tax which negates the 20 bucks extra microsoft gives you
-they charge tax on EVERYTHING. meaning all the accessories/games will include tax
-everything is full price...amazon has everything much cheaper
-the selection is HORRIBLE.
-promo codes hardly work. im still on the line trying to get the order complete.
-You forfeit any unused portion of your gift card.

All in all HORRIBLE DEAL. STAY AWAY. I'd purchase through amazon next time.

I guess you could buy the 250GB HDD with the $100. I wish mine wasn't the 4GB.
