I got one of these on a black friday deal. The teflon was chipping off very quickly and the plastic casing started to melt. They are not the safest of appliances and I would recommend avoiding these.

@bane3d: That was exactly my experience with the first sandwich maker we bought. When Teflon gets scratched, throw the appliance away quickly. But our sandwich maker's Teflon started bubbling and flaking off by itself. Also, the lock permanently locked the first time we used it, and I had to break it open with a dinner knife.

The same style, perhaps made in the same factory, is sold under all different names. We wound up buying a second one (figured $5 wasn't much to lose), and it's turned out to be pretty decent.
