@screwballl: Still need an external enclosure. Additionally, this particular one doesn't require a dedicated power cable. All power through USB. Which, yes, generally means low power and slower. But hey, it's for backup/external storage.

A few months ago my boyfriend got a Western Digital 3TB hd but for $100. At the time I didn't have that to spend so I couldn't get myself one and I've feel damned ever since. Come on you guys, don't fail me now! :)

I own the 1.5tb version of this drive and I absolutely love it. USB 3.0 is so much faster for transferring files. I also love the fact that it is small and is usb powered. If you need a portable drive you will love this.
