For anyone who is insanely curious, its the same flag used in the CBS "Jericho" series.

Oh, you aren't? Thanks for canceling my show. For the second time.

There are two prints of the Gadsden flag (this flag) that I'm aware of, and this is the lower-quality one. Notice how the snake looks like it drawn by a child and how the flag is missing the apostrophe in "Don't"? The other, more expensive one bears a better-looking snake and correct grammar.

i find it funny that this is labeled as "tea party" and "conservative". why? i'm super friggin liberal and i think this is awesome! its patriotic! it has nothing to do with political affiliation.

vote-for4vote-against

that looks like some crappy knock off version... here is what the real one looks like

vote-for4vote-against

@mindlessautomata: the original from 1775 or so didnt have the apostrophe in it either.

7.95 to ship a flag? Come on!

vote-for3vote-against

@kojo87: You're right it's an awesome flag that represents ideals that could be shared by both parties.

However, I suspect the tags are there because it has recently been used by tea party protesters as a symbol of their discontent. So the tags aren't there because of some inference the OP made but because of its recent use.

Incidentally, it was also adapted by Nike, when designing a motif for the US Soccer Team in a previous World Cup (2006, I believe).

@kojo87: If you don't get the significance, no point in trying to explain it...

I'd bet it's manufactured in communist China. U-S-A! U-S-A! U-S-A!

vote-for2vote-against

@bluejena: you are right but thats not the one that is most popular

vote-for2vote-against

@vinithehat: Actually, now I can't remember what the better print says, but the snake image on this one is definitely childish looking.

@chaosamoeba: Isn't that the whole point?

"Join or Die", as someone famous once said.

What a dumb symbol for the dumb wanna be something someday party!

vote-for6vote-against

Did no one else think of "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" when they saw this? ie: "Charlie Goes America All Over Everybody's Ass"

In more recent times, this was used by libertarians before tea partiers. Tea partiers are more like the pissed off, uninformed, previously-republican version of libertarians.

Don't confuse the two.

vote-for4vote-against

@rlorenz89: in addition to uninformed, don't forget easily manipulated and mouth-breathing

vote-for1vote-against

@athena48: I did! And I could hear Charlie singing, "ROCK, FLAG, AND EAGLE!"

vote-for3vote-against

@chrisk380: Actually the party in tea party isn't so much that they want to be a political party it is a reference to the Boston Tea Party which was a protest against high taxes. The Tea Partiers are people who are protesting against raised taxes, but because of their conservative political affiliation
people feel it's ok to attack their right to peaceful protest and assume they are racist and homophobic when their protest has nothing to do with either. Sounds like they're already what they wanna be. Protesters.

Well . . . unless you are a massage therapist, then tread on my back all you want . . . mmmmmm!

vote-for1vote-against

@rlorenz89: I would say it was the Liberterian party that changed. The Liberterian ideals used to be less lawsm, small govt, low taxes and free speach. These ideas used to be major planks of both parties, but some how all that got lost along the way.

As for uninformed, you dont have to be an elite ivy leager to know that the country has been on the wrong track for the last 10 years, and it is only getting worse.

vote-for2vote-against

flag is based on a political cartoon by Benjamin Franklin. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Join,_or_Die

It actually had very little to do with any political partys

vote-for2vote-against

ha, that snake looks like a tard

vote-for2vote-against

@thericochet: Fair enough with your little video, but those signs are not a representation of what the teapartiers claim they are protesting. When we throw race into the mix things tend to get a tad messy no matter what you are for or against. I'm pretty sure that if another group were to challenge a more conservative idea of the USA's first black president that some racists would paint up some signs and show up for the event.

As for myself I am an independent who thinks both parties are too busy butting heads to get anything accomplished. I can understand the tea partiers being concerned about taxes, but I can also understand that the money to pay for things that need done should come from somewhere.

vote-for1vote-against

@urbsnspices: Of course not everyone that's part of the group is uninformed, but it seems that a large percentage of them happen to be. It makes them the same as every other party out there. No special insult to the tea partiers, just that many of them don't really know what they're fighting for...

vote-for3vote-against

@thesmartypants: I'd say I'm in the same boat as you are. I get frustrated with both parties, and would much rather have my government stay out of my morality issues?
