2TB Western Digital? $120?

UNPOSSIBLE

If I hadn't spent so much money on my file server (cue irony) I would've gone for this.

Tell me, though. What are your experiences with mwave?

I've bought from them a few times in the last few years, and they're great to work with. The shipping is reasonable (unlike newegg -- since Newegg doesn't allow you to combine shipping)and the customer server is great.

I used to buy stuff from them about 5 years ago but now buy most of my computer stuff from Newegg, Amazon or Microcenter, but it seems like their name has been popping up allot on the bargains sites here lately so I thought I'd give them a try, and both times there have been problems with my orders which lead me to cancel them. Then tonight I see this great deal or the Hard Drive and I can't log into their MClub to get the discount. I’m through with mwave.

what do you do with a bare hard drive? The photos show the needle and moving parts exposed, how do you house this safely?

@wizardtom: YOu just need to keep it in your clean room and there won't be any problems.

bought 2. lets see what happens. is 32 vs 64 MB cache noticeable with normal usage? does that impact reading and writing multiple files to disk?

also RPMs are not listed?

@romey050500: The original link doesn't work, but the one he included in the description works fine:

I just ordered the drive for the posted price...

I just ordered one too, worked fine from the second link.

Great price, but I've lost too much data on WD drives. Pass.

this is a 32mb drive. they list the 64mb drive on the site for $159 -$10 club sign up, plus -$10 coupon code no free ship. not as good of a deal as the 32. this is a good drive.

Anyone care to comment on the customer service at MWAVE?

I need to buy a video card as well and they have slightly better prices than the egg. I usually shop newegg because of the insanely awesome cust service i get.

What a HORRIBLE customer service experience! I enter the order, get to the point where I'm JUST about to complete it when it shows me the shipping address - WHICH THEY MANGLED. So, using the back button, I try and correct it. Then it wouldn't allow me to apply the coupon code, since I "used" it already. Calling their customer service didn't help - the jerk I talked to didn't understand that I needed to correct my shipping address. Then I find out that if I want to pay with PayPal - NONE of the discounts work. NONE OF THEM. On top of that - since I want to ship it to my work address instead of my billing address, I have to fax them crap or have my credit card altered to have a duplicate address, and even THEN they tell me that I may not have a valid order yet because they're trying to "protect" me. YEAH - PROTECT ME FROM EVER DOING BUSINESS WITH THESE JERKS EVER AGAIN.

I'll comment on their service. They want me to call them because they say two of my credit cards have been declined. Which is odd because I've used these cards online for years with no issues. I'm nowhere near the limit on either of them (pay off balance every month)and I was shipping to my billing address (residence). I have no idea why they were declined, but the deal wasn't that incredible to begin with. Having to call them and wade through their customer service isn't something I'm willing to waste my time on for an ok deal. Hard drive prices are falling all of the time. I guess I won't be going back in the future either.

After this experience, I doubt I'll be doing business with them in the future.
