Netflix on Wii? Now that's interesting. Too bad I'm no longer a subscriber.

vote-for2vote-against

sweet, i've just been watching netflix on my blueray player, now i don't have to take it when I go TDY, just the wii

vote-for2vote-against

Excellent! We just got a Blu-Ray player with Netflix streaming a couple of days before Christmas and I am a bit tempted to drop my cable package to a lower end package since I'm mainly watching network TV or streaming Netflix.

This will now allow the kids to stream through the Wii in our living room rather than having them in my bedroom watching our TV. One can only take so much Barney, Caillou, etc...

vote-for1vote-against

@altonb1: Ughh... caillou is a TERRIBLE show... I'd like to choke that little...

vote-for2vote-against

I already have one for my PS3, why not for Wii too. :)

vote-for1vote-against

I hoping this will work from Germany. We have the Netflix movies going to an APO. Can't hurt to try and find out.

vote-for1vote-against

thanks for posting this

vote-for1vote-against

The link puts me on their homepage... Hmmm.

Be sure to log in!
Can't wait!

vote-for1vote-against

Now I don't have to think about getting a Roku!

vote-for1vote-against

As my kids say . . . "Suh weeet!" We've got a Roku on one TV and LOVE it! The Wii is in a different part of the house. Now we'll be streaming all over the place!

vote-for1vote-against

I just read that this was confirmed! thanks for posting the link

vote-for2vote-against

Cool! Thanks! Link worked fine for me & my disc is reserved. I've been using my blu ray player to stream Netflix movies. I figure the picture quality won't be as good with the Wii because the blu ray player is directly connected to the router while the Wii (which is in another room) uses wifi. Still, it'll be sweet to be able to stream from Netflix on two different TV's!

vote-for1vote-against

Wii isn't high def either.

vote-for1vote-against

Does anyone stream wirelessly via their PS3 or 360? curious as to the quality of the feed since even with a hardline the quality drops significantly depending on the signal strength.

vote-for1vote-against

Worked for me. Thank you for the link.

vote-for1vote-against

Yay! Now I don't have to keep my XBOX Live sub up anymore. I never play online anyways... too many jerks.

vote-for1vote-against

I have been using the Roku to watch netflix on my television; it's been incredible, SOOOOO incredible. Best purchase ever. So I am excited that we can have the same thing on the tv up front now!!! IT'S SO AWESOME.

vote-for1vote-against

Thanks! I have for the PS3 and would be great to stream netflix to the other TV with the Wii hooked up.

vote-for1vote-against

So, would one normally have to pay an extra fee or something for the Wii disc? If you have a plan where you can only have one movie at a time, does the streaming disc count as your movie? Can you use this disc on multiple Wiis (not at the same time), or does it get registered to a particular Wii?

vote-for1vote-against

I'm really excited about this! I have a netflix enabled blu ray player, but have not been able to hook it up via ethernet yet. This will be the perfect solution!

vote-for1vote-against

Got one coming... Wahoo...!

vote-for1vote-against

very cool...signed up to be notified when Wii support is available :)

vote-for1vote-against

I already have Netflix on my 360, PS3 and now my bluray player...don't think I need it for the Wii too.

vote-for1vote-against

Very cool. Wasn't available when I first tried, but the linked worked just now!

vote-for1vote-against

@phoebus13: You should take a look at how the PS3 disc works; this will likely be exactly the same. To answer your questions:

1) No, which doesn't really make this a deal. I don't know why it's here.
2) No, instant watch is unlimited and does not affect your DVDs
3) You can use the disc on multiple Wiis, but will probably have to register each one with Netflix. You can only register 6 devices per Netflix account.

vote-for1vote-against

Very excited about this. For all the people discussing using this as well as a blu-ray, ps3, etc, have you already tried streaming from the same Netflix account on two devices at the same time?

vote-for1vote-against

Thank you very much for the info, zorg50!

vote-for1vote-against

@selene1212:
It's a lot higher def than Netfilx Streaming!

vote-for1vote-against

Sweet can't wait! To bad I spent the 20 for PlayOn recently. :(

vote-for1vote-against

Sweet! All set to go and I can't wait until this spring!

vote-for1vote-against

A little while ago I found out that you can only stream Netflix for the primary account signon. So for those parents that have separate accounts for kids to manage their own queue, they will need you to log in on the Wii. Maybe Netflix has removed that restriction by now.

vote-for1vote-against

Wii is not an HD device, that means no HD streaming. Thanks but no thanks!

vote-for1vote-against

@mrtaylor2112: I have used my 360 and I currently use my Tivo, quality is great but both are high def. devices, the wii isn't.

vote-for1vote-against

@mrtaylor2112: I spent an entire week housesitting watching wirelessly on a 360 HDMI'd to a 50" plasma, and while not high def, the movies/ tv shows looked great...

I'm just excited about not having to have my laptop hooked up to the TV any more...

vote-for1vote-against

I just get the home page. Logged in or not. Did they take the deal down?

vote-for1vote-against

PC Mag had story linked a couple days ago. Confirmed no HD on Wii (XBox and PS3 have it). Minimum $9 package with Netflix. Sounds pretty cool, have to see what shows are available to judge it.

vote-for1vote-against

@mrtaylor2112: my 360 works flawlessly with fios, hard cabled.

vote-for1vote-against

awesome ty. In for one

@ ~ decibeluo
Nope, I just upgraded my account a couple weeks ago, so my kid could stream her stuff and i could stream mine simultaneously. Only the main user can stream, no profiles. Your kid can use your login and stream at same time, but they get FULL access to your account.
Netflix needs to explain this missing detail and fix it so profiles can stream (profiles have parental settings, so why cant they stream)

@ ~emergingdzns

In order to take advantage of this offer, you need to be sure you are on a plan that allows streaming.. For those that need to know, Streaming is allowed on one (of I thinks it's 3 registered devices) at the $8.99 level, and simultaneously on 2 (of 6 registered devices) at the $13.99 level (please make sure you read the first part of this post in regards to dual streaming)

vote-for0vote-against

Cool! Can't wait to try it out! Reserved my copy.

vote-for1vote-against

The only downside to it is that the Wii is currently incapable of HD. We'll just have to wait for the WiiHD to come out...... Whenever that is.

vote-for1vote-against

Hey, that's pretty awesome! Thanks!

vote-for1vote-against

SUH WEET! Thanks for posting this!!! Now I know why I never bought that Roku!!! :)

vote-for1vote-against

Yay, I got it! Well, got to go and set it up. See ya later!

vote-for1vote-against

Console Netflix is awesome...especially since they added the ability to add movies to you're queue straight from the console...

Love me sum Netflix.

...now I just need to sign up for it again :)
