Am I missing something??
Bulbs of this wattage have been regularly posted for ~$15 at places like HD or Lowes.....what makes this bulb worth, and a good deal at almost $40......

@jjeff: quite a few things make SWITCH a bit different. Firstly they use liquid cooling which allows them to be used in all fixtures, even fully enclosed. The bargin bulbs will burn up in fully enclosed fixtures. They are also quite stunning to look at. Sure, they are pricy but for people looking for a special aesthetic they are in high demand. Similar comparison could be made for "vintage" bulbs which typically sell for 300% to 400% of standard incandescent bulbs. Some more info on SWITCH here: http://switchlightingco.com/

OK that makes sense, this deal isn't for someone just looking for the cheapest energy efficient replacement bulb. I know what you mean about specialized bulbs, they can be many times the cost of similar bulbs but different enough for some to desire/need, I can see that :)
