I've "bought" 7 separate items for absolutely free. If you buy anything that's $10 and use in-store pickup, it costs nothing.

@kenleybiz: I think this is a "unique" code that was sent to someone. They didn't cap the number of uses, so now it's being abused. I picked up a few towels myself.

Keep in mind that JC Penney's ship-to-store can take two weeks or more, even though they claim 4-7 days. I speak from personal experience. Also, with this serial number, I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of these orders get cancelled.

Still working here. Just make sure you choose in-store. Price in "shopping cart" still says $10.00 but order total above is $0.00. I'm getting all kinds of e-mails confirming orders, but as someone else stated it says I don't have any "open orders" on my account. Hmmm. We'll see I guess. Either it will be caught and cancelled or I might be getting 10 separate pick up calls from my local JCP!

One order went through for me, discounting it by $9.99. Then charged me $8 for Ship to store....

My second order discounted $10.00 and didn't charge for shipping to the store...

I am curious to see how this plays out. On the one hand, they are going to take some sort of loss if they honor all of these. On the other hand, JCP is a really hurting company that can't afford any bad press.

Were I in charge, I would have to look at the total $, and perhaps compare it to the cost of a marketing campaign. Say this oopsie costs them $10M. How much does a media blitz cost them? How much goodwill will they generate if they honor these? Or even the first use for each account? How much ill will and bad publicity would they create if they cancel this?

Would very likely fire someone on this, tho... I thought those serial numbers were supposed to limit these kinds of things. ;-)

All of my orders were for items that were more than $10; wonder if that will make a difference.

And by more than $10, I mean a $8 tank top and $5 shorts for my kids for a total of $3. Or $16 grown-up shorts for $6.

I had to submit the code a few times before it finally took it a few minutes ago. It did charge me to ship to store, but I'm concerned if I call they'll tell me they won't honor the deal. I'm not that concerned, the deal I got on some socks is only a couple bucks cheaper than I got at Costco, but it'd be nice to get the deal.

Edit: Decided to call. The lady on the line said she'd fix it so the shipping is free... we'll see.

I did about 12 orders, all showing in my order history, half showing as available, half showing as in progress.

Got about 15-20 orders in on the same email account. The trick to getting the discount to show was to go to the checkout, choose ship-to-store, re-enter the checkout and it shows. That being said, my orders don't show on my account yet. Really hoping at least the ones I paid a bit for will go through. Got some great deals on sports items for my hubby :)

Exactly. JCP are no fools. I am pretty sure that they simply just delete the orders in your account. Don't waste your time. IF IT LOOKS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE, IT ISN'T.

just bought 2 pillows for $4 and picked up 2 bath towels for free.

It's items I need anyways, so even if the pillows go through and the towels don't, I'll be happy. If everything goes through, I'll be one happy wooter.

Bought 5 of the men's polo's that were exactly $10. But inventory by now is either completely gone or back ordered. I wouldn't be upset if they cancelled the order, but with JC Penney currently running those commercials begging customers to come back, not sure if they can afford this PR nightmare either. So either 5 free new shirts for me, or a very awkward phone call.

AS OF 11pm California time, the code now only takes off $9.99.... still placing clothing orders for my kids at $0.01, though, lol!

edit: and now it's back to taking $10.00 off.... they're obviously trying to do something about this code, but who knows what.

Anyone else heard from JCP about their orders? When I log into my account there it still says I have no open orders? sigh If something seems too good to be true... I guess it saves me the embarrassment of picking up my 12 separate orders while the staff mutter that I'm one of "those people" who took advantage of their struggling company.

I know there is going to be some negative response on this, but here goes:

If you know this is supposed to be one time use, and you use it more than once, how do you justify that?
I found it interesting someone posted about bad publicity if JCP doesn't honor the free orders.. Really? The company not giving into people who are violating the terms is a bad thing for the company? Not in my mind.
