Oooo - VERY nice price. I think it's even cheaper than when Woot offered it last time. (And I'm not talking about its bigger brother either.)

Except for the lack of low-end, which is expected from speakers with 4" woofers, these are easily the best speakers you can buy at even twice the regular price. At half the price, BUY THEM!

I purchased a set of these for the bedroom; it replaces an old set of Optimus (Radio Shack) speakers of which I'll be keeping the powered sub; it was manufactured by Pioneer anyways.

Would these be a good finish for a 7.1 system ?

Have a Pioneer VSX - 1021 A/V receiver, with Martin Logan - MLT1 speakers.

Set-up as 5.1 at present.

@computiac: They ought to do just fine for the 5.1-to-7.1 upgrade... They are regarded by many home theatre specialists as one of the best "cheap" speakers. They may have just a slightly different timbre to their voice than your Martin Logans, but with a good mid-range receiver like yours, the difference shouldn't be a deal-breaker.

I'm definitely considering grabbing another pair for a smaller stereo music setup in another room...
