Black Ops II is currently $39.99 on Amazon for the physical copy of the game. This seems like a much better deal if you don't mind waiting a few days for delivery. I'm surprised XBox would hype up such a big game sale week and only discount Black Ops II $10 for the digital version.

@thebuggalo: That was the only one that surprised me in this list, though Amazon may have it for $40 to compete with this sale, who knows. All the others are good prices.

And I'm guessing all the downvotes are from the "Battlefield is better than everything" people.

I perfer getting my games like this because my kids can't scratch the disk and it's realling installed and not the fake install like when you have the disks. Helps when your DVD Drive is failing also. You just pay a premium to have all your games stored on their server farm.

@zapp brannigan: I don't like to buy digital downloads from xbox/ps3 at this time period, because the next gen is right around the corner and these won't be backward compatible. At least you can sell off the discs (if it's not scratched)

@chennai8: On the other hand it is still useful for people who don't or take their time to upgrade to a new system. I know people who a PS2 is the newest console they own and they play it regularly. While I prefer Disc versions of games, if the price is right I have no problems buying digital versions of a game. Plus if you don't do digital games you can miss out on some great games on Xbox Live Arcade, PSN, or PC because they may only be available digitally.

@chennai8: They wont? Article? If there is a demand, they will be backward compatible I would think. That has kind of been the precedent set by most new console releases... ever. It is also easily applicable to the download market (rather than physical disc market) as demonstrated by steam with their steamplay feature.

@countdown: Yep, PS4 already announced they won't. Everything we hear about 720 is rumors. I had my original 60GB Ps3 with BC, after it died I sold all my ps2 games . I have serious doubts that they'll support BC next-gen, because they already created a market for "HD collections".

@segafanalways: That's because they are changing CPU design and it wouldn't be possible to play the old games on the new CPU. I bet the new Xbox will be backwards compatable.

@chennai8: they also said the reason PS4 wouldn't be BC is because the PS4 uses a X86 PC architecture and the PS3 used their own cell computer architecture.
