@sergio1988: At 50 pounds of pull, it's no toy.

vote-for4vote-against

Its certainly a weapon, but it won't kill a deer. Typically its used for rodents like jack rabbits and rats or just target practice.

vote-for16vote-against

rabbits aren't rodents; theyre lagomorphs. yes i'm an asshole; don't ever call a beetle a bug in my presence. haha

vote-for3vote-against

The shipping is $13.95 However that won't change even after adding some extra ammo, or an extra bow or anything.

vote-for1vote-against

Ammo is just around $2 for a 12 pack.

vote-for7vote-against

I can get them for less at the flea market.

The Crossbow with the 50 lb pull is only accurate for around 20 feet.
If you want to really get something with any distance and accuracy go for one with an 80 or 90 lb pull.

Yeah, I have them both in my garage right now. :)

The ad says steel bow, bolts,.... Don't be fooled. Those are plastic bolts. Again, if you want accuracy, go for the aluminum bolts. The plastic ones flex and that throws off the accuracy too.

This is what a crossbow is SUPPOSED to look like:

http://deals.woot.com/deals/details/6377f2ed-429e-41ce-aa5f-b85e30eac23a/precision-shooting-equipment-tac-15-crossbow

Fits on an AR-15 lower...or there's a fully integrated model.

Check this promo video out...(it's kinda funny/cheesy) but it's also pretty badass. http://www.tac15.com

vote-for1vote-against

If you look at the site, they offer many others, up to 180 lb pull, and also sell aluminum bolts. There's an 85 lb for $21. I don't know anything about crossbows, is this any good?

Killjoy, I read that as what's included, as in includes steel bow, includes bolts, etc.

vote-for1vote-against

@vinithehat: I just learned my random fact of the day...

vote-for2vote-against

Ok Cancel that, The shipping is NOT $13.95, its actually $11.95 I was looking at it wrong.

vote-for3vote-against

Yo guys ... just buy a bow and turn it side ways.... CROSSBOW

vote-for2vote-against

Has anyone bought anything from BK Industries before?

vote-for2vote-against

We've made a few mistakes like any business but we are legit. We have been on Woot now since February.

vote-for1vote-against

These things are seriously fierce. If you can get the bolts that will fire from it, it is EXTREMELY dangerous.

Yeah, they are awesome to play with.

Yeah, I've seen them bury the bolts over an inch into a 4-4.

They could easily kill you, and if it snaps on you and you aren't ready, it hurts like all get out.

Like I said, a lot of fun, but I would almost rather give a kid a gun than one of these. Some of my friends and family have them too, and they definitely do NOT get the respect they deserve.

vote-for2vote-against

We actually use ours mostly for target practice, we use the aluminum bolts because they don't bend like the plastic ones, We use a 1/2" Plywood board to shoot at it the bolts go right through it and stick out the back. Gotta love em.

However the tips that the string attaches too tend to break every so often so its good to get an extra string set or two.

vote-for1vote-against

Which model / pull strength are you guys talking about, that shoots an inch into wood, or through a half inch sheet of plywood? Not the 50 lb one is it?

vote-for3vote-against

Hmmmm....potential impulse buy of the year?

vote-for1vote-against

Which is a better frame? This one that is poly/fiber or the one that is only $5 more and has an aluminum frame?

vote-for2vote-against

@danduhman: or hold two @ 90 degree for a criss cross bow.

vote-for1vote-against

@vinithehat: man i bet you are a BLAST to hang out with.

vote-for1vote-against

Checked through their site and did some price comparisons with their other products. They aren't marking their prices up very much from what they are paying for the items, overall id say that their prices are fair.

vote-for1vote-against

@integrator97: Based on the price point I would say mine was a 50 lb. I totally agree with the aluminum bold comments. Either way, I wouldn't expect great accuracy out of these things.

vote-for1vote-against

I bought one of these at a local gun show thinking it would be fun just to play with but like Timtheoya said, it's pretty scary to use and is not a toy. The bolts are VERY easy to lose and very cheaply made (the plastic ones anyway). The aluminum tips on them have an annoying habit of falling off after their first use. So make sure you buy extra bolts for it. (and if you want to avoid shipping do like I did and just wait for a local gun and knife show to come around and pick one up there)

vote-for1vote-against

@sonovavondruke: I actually can get that shovel, Or at least one very much like it. As you can see form going to our site we are still uploading a lot of items (empty categories) but were adding about 500-1000 items a week right now, but we have about 200,000 items to upload so its going to be a while.

vote-for1vote-against

@rantisdel: We try to keep our prices at what you would get at a gun show. Sometimes were still beat but normally not. In this instance, we make exactly $0.85 cents on every crossbow sold.

If you want anything from the manufacturers at:
Rothco.com or AWMA.com let me know, go to there site and find an item and I will make sure that I add that item next.

You can't see the prices, but if you go to Selfdefensesupply.com there is a lot of great items that I sell also.

These three manufacturers are the ones we are focusing on adding to the site before moving on. But we have about 200 different ones that will be added eventually.

vote-for1vote-against

@integrator97: The 50lb normally would, but the 85 (for a couple dollars more) does for sure, and its acurate for about 30 more ft then the 50lb

vote-for1vote-against

I purchased one of these at a novelty store. It was fun, but it is mostly plastic. I apparently over-tightened the retaining screw, so it cracked the plastic housing. I didn't use it after that. If this thing went off track when firing, then you could be 'scru-ed'.

vote-for1vote-against

lol, Typically if the bolt goes off track then it knocks the targeting clip off (which snaps right back on) the aluminum version is certainly a better quality one then the plastic, which is probably why half the sales have been for the aluminum one.

If you want some real fun though, then you gotta buy the fishing bolts. There barbed so you can catch a fish and are attached to a line so you can reel it in after shooting.

You can even watch some youtube videos of some people using them.

vote-for1vote-against

@integrator97:
Yes it includes a steel bow, but the point I was trying to make is don't think that you are getting steel bolts too.
The bolts that come with it are plastic (with a steel tip).

vote-for1vote-against

Shipping would have doubled the price for me. Otherwise I would have bought. (I think this is the same place I got the last one I had.)

vote-for0vote-against

@sonovavondruke: that has to be the coolest thing ive seen in a while, thanks for the post, is there any place to buy it?

vote-for1vote-against

@bkindustries:
I'm interested in picking up an 80lb bow but the bolts are all for either 50lb or 100+lb. Any of those work with the 80lb?

vote-for1vote-against

The 80lb uses the normal 6 inch bolts (the same kind the 50lb uses)

vote-for1vote-against

@whitedevilz: The 80lb uses the normal 6 inch bolts (the same kind the 50lb uses)

vote-for1vote-against

@sonovavondruke: I am purchasing a couple hundred of that multi-function shovel and should have them in soon. I will create a deal here in a few days for it so keep your Eyes peeled.

It was a hecka hard to find the actual manufacturer that makes these, it seems no-one in the US actually sells them yet.

vote-for0vote-against

@vinithehat: "rabbits aren't rodents; theyre lagomorphs. yes i'm an asshole; don't ever call a beetle a bug in my presence. haha"

If all that is true then aren't you really an Anus?

vote-for1vote-against

Someone do me a favor and go to the crossbow link and see if my Amazon checkout button works.

I added GPal (cause Paypal doesn't allow weapons to be sold) and Amazon checkout but I can't tell if the amazon one works.

Thanks

I ordered $110 worth of stuff from this company about 3 weeks ago and paid for express shipping, My credit card was charged and my stuff has yet to ship. I've attempted to contact customer service and had no response. I would not order from this company.

vote-for1vote-against

@vwgallina: We have responded to every single email we received if you wrote us and we did not respond it is because there must of been an technical error somewhere that prevented your email from getting to us.

All orders placed after 5pm on the 9th were canceled and refunded to all customers this last thursday, if for some reason you have not received your refund by now it is because your bank takes a few days longer to process (normally up to 9 days)

All other orders placed from the 6th-9th were delayed because of the same issue until the 20th, at which point the normal shipping time began of 10-15 days.

I apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused, but as mentioned many times in this string, please contact us for any updates if you did not receive any of the 3 mass emails we sent out.

vote-for1vote-against

Has anyone received a crossbow? I am still waiting for mine to ship.

vote-for1vote-against

@superhulk: We had some more go out yesterday and more are going out today, however there were 5 boxes that came back to us saying the address was non existent (but its identical to what the customer put in) so if you don't get a tracking number within the next day or so please contact us about it.

bkindustries@bkindustries.net

vote-for1vote-against

DO NOT. I REPEAT DO NOT ORDER FROM THE WEBSITE!!!!!! They will screw you over. NO doubts about it now. Customer service is absolutely horrible, and they treat you with no respect as a paying customer.
